Miller welder 225 arcs but wont continue welding

There is an electrical connector that the wiring harness for the engine plugs into at the rear of the generator case. On the one that I had, there was corrosion in that connector. Once I fixed the wiring there, the voltage sensing feature worked correctly. The connector was located on the right side if you were looking at the controls. Hope this helps.

Coming out of the breaker box going to the welder plug what size wire should i use to run a lincoln 225 welder

It depends on how far away you are going to be away from the breaker box, using a #2 wire should be fine for your welder.

Miller bobcat 225g plus welding problem

If the idle is not working, then it is either you idle solenoid attached to the carberator or your idle board is bad. If you apply 12Vdc to the idle solenoid is should move, if not then the solenoid is shot, no good. If it works then you idle board is bad. Also, check to see if you are 60Hertz by measuring at the outlet with a frequency meter. I recommend a Fluke meter. You should have 120Vac and 60HZ at the outlet. If the frequency is low then your engine speed needs to be increased. The idle solenoid could be causing all these problems.

ADDING A REMOTE TO A BOBCAT 225 PLUS MACHINE

Hi there,
The short answer is that you can't do this with a Bobcat, you need a Trailblazer welder with a remote socket.
The reason that this isn't a good idea is that the wires you talk about are in the rotors exciter circuit, at full output there is going to be something like 7 amps flowing thru those wires, 'dya really think those wires on your expensive remote control will handle 7 amps?
The rheostat is a 100 watt one, think about holding a lit up 100 watt bulb in your hand...

If you really need remote current control you might try talking to your local Miller dealer, he will be able to check on trading your machine for a reconditioned Trailblazer for a reasonable price.

Regards,
Carl
