Is the temperature "N" the coldest or "+ "the coldest?

N stands for normal. Usually normal is midrange while + is either colder (for more refrigeration) or warmer (for higher temperature). Check the end of the scale for the word , coldest. There will typically be arrows pointing toward colder/est as well. Best would be to move the dial just one (hopefully an) increment and come back 24 hours later and check for a decrease on the thermometer (yours or the reefers built-in one). If it moves the wrong way (assuming constant ambient temperature) try dialing the other direction. .

Adjust freezer temp

On my whirlpool refrigerator a higher number is colder. On the freezer section it is a-b-c with "a" being warmer and "c" being coldest.
Attached is a link to whirlpool manuals and troubleshooting. You will need the model number of your refrigerator or freezer.

The higher the number, the colder the fridge/freezer. You should just adjust 1 number per 24 hours per the manual instructions.
