Have same problem ; thought I needed a new speaker but that was not the problem. Go to dignostics and type in these keys ;
That brings up a screen to test sound ; click RECIEVER ON ! That gives off a tone - and then your phone will have sound ; or at least that works with mine BUT, every time you switch off, you have to reset/do the same -
No idea why, anyone with a better fix please let me know !
Hi, for anyone still having this problem with the newer Samsung phones, I just solved the issue I posted up earlier.
To disable keypad tones, but keep your ringtone etc active, go to Profiles -> edit your 'Normal' profile. Press right on the selection pad twice to get to phone-related settings. Scroll down to the bottom of that page of settings to the 'Phone sound volume' option, select it and adjust it to zero.
This will turn off all keypad noises and other irritating beeps while not actually turning your phone on to 'silent mode', which would disable your ringtone etc.
Hope this helps, I know I was going insane with this phone until I figured out how to turn those sounds off.
Hi and happy new year this should be easy to solve you need to go into settings then profile and then select the profile you use then goto the settings in the profile mode then their should be an option that says keypad tones turn this off then this should solve your problem let me know how you get on ok. the silent profile should have this turned off anyway but using this profile means you will have no ringtones or anything so you need to alter the settings in the general profile once you change keypad tones you need to then activate that profile again then this should be solved good luck
