Started washing machine; suddenly stopped drawing water
When I was starting a load of laundry, the water suddenly stopped coming in. Water line to the unit is good. Has power. Making a humming noise like it is attempting to pump water in, however, no water is going in to drum. It is an older top loader. I use cold water only.

We have a ge washing machine model number WJRE5500G1WW. We were starting a new load of laundry and the washer was just filling with water. There was a loud noise we stopped the machine and it looks as if the entire central component that holds the washer separated from the metal shell. It is no longer suspended from the outer support framework and is floating unsupported. Do you know what we should do to fix this
you probably have the "burst free" hoses, this machine draws water too fast so the hoses think they burst, change the hoses to the original or get new ones that aren't burst free and this should solve your problem
you have a water valve problem just as you suspected its not shutting off your water when its supposed to it is just continually letting water come in your machine, also if you are on a well system check the back of your machine where your lines come into your machine their is a wire mesh filter that protects trash from getting into this valve, but sometimes it gets through this, so just uncrew the pipes and check this. I had this problem, if you dont have a filtration system on your house I would stongly recomend one to prevent this from happening again. I have a well and this has been a problem for me.
let me know if I can help with anything else,
hi when doing wash are you sure wash load button is set for full load and not half load ? as half load is less water used and wash time can you hear water entering machine clearly when on ? also check the tun on/off tap for wash machine pipes are fully open as well as the main water supply stop **** for your abode ?
All of the above should be true! But I recommend having hands on service , because there are to many variables!
Try unplugging the machine for 5 minutes and then restarting it and see if it is a reset situation!
Is this a solenoid problem, sensor problem or other....can I fix it... and if
I were to pour water into the machine would it recognize the water
level and start to agitate and function properly so I could get some
