Question about Dewalt d55151 factory reconditioned emglo heavy - duty 2.5hp 4 gallon Electric hand carry compressor

1 Answer

Which part to replace?

DeWalt Emglo 2hp 4 gallon compressor
There is a leak coming from inside the pressure adjustment knob. I have pulled it apart and "re-seated" all the parts and inspected them. No visible tears or holes in gasket, etc. Put it all back together and it still leaks from inside, (verified with bubble test). Any ideas? Do I need to replace the knob and spring part or the section on the manifold?

Thanks for any and all input.

You need to replace the regulator (pressure adjustment assembly.)
You can find the part number by searching on the DeWalt web site. It's important to know not only the model number but also the type number of your compressor; the type number is which version of the compressor you have.

Hey there. I am having problems with my Emglo Dewalt d55151 compressor. I have taken it apart and and cleaned everything up. The reason I did all this was..because the cold start valve stays open and its...

The cold start valve will close when volume of air from compressor is sufficient to overcome spring under pin (allows the motor to come up to speed). Evidently your compressor is producing very little air. Usually the problem is leaking or broken reed valves or gaskets. Remove the head and look for torn/ leaking gaskets and replace as needed. Examing the reed valves and seats and look for broken cracked reeds or worn seats. Some of the valve plates used in Dewalt compressors are made of aluminum and would fail. Parts are available at www.toolpartsdirect.com or local dewalt service center. Good luck with your repair.

Dewalt compressor will not build up pressure

turn on and tap the top of the pin lightly also with no air in tank pull up and down on pin spray lightly with wd40 never let anyone use this pin valve to release pressure it will ruin the valve if you still have problems you can get a new universal check valve off the shelf at lowes for around $6 make sure you use thread tape when reinstalling

Air compressor does not regulate pressure to set point.

Emglo airmate compressors are set from the factory to shut off at around 125psi. There is an adjustment (remove cover to pressure switch) that will controll the cut-off pressure but it is not recommended changing the factory setting. There is also a safety valve installed that will open at about 160psi. It is a small brass device with a pull ring. When things go wrong with the pressure switch (rectangular box with power cord coming out of one side) the safety will pop open. There is a pressure regulator with round knob on panel that will lower the pressure to the tool, however this regulator does not control the pressure switch. Let you compressor run untill it shuts off and verify pressure to be about 125, if it is then all as well. Good Luck

Dewalt compressor not filling with air

if you do not have any air leaks and it is a oil less compressor than it is most likely the piston seal is wore out. if it is an oil compressor that it is likely a flapper valve
