I'm trying to fix this computer, it isn't mine at all.
It got 2 memories but I had already tried with both and none of them work.
I've already tried everything, I'm gonna check these memories in a friend pc now (I don't have ddr 1 slot), but I guess the problem is in the MB. And them, there's no way t solve it.

    Thanks for the solutions
    I really apreciate them

Hi gaby_fr25,
Try this, remove your memory & reseat it. (Clean the memory contacts with alcohol, let it dry before replacing & do not touch the contacts with your fingers at any time). (Blow the memory slots out with canned air, if you have some).
Boot the system & listen for the "long beep". If the long beep does not go away than do the same to your video card. (If your using an AGP add in card).
If the long beep continues & If you have more than one stick of memory, remove DIMM 2, (Memory slot farthest from the CPU).
Check for "long beep". Still there? Switch memory sticks. Remove DIMM one, (Closest slot to the CPU) & replace. Check for "long beep".
If nothing above has stopped the "long beep", post here & we'll try another option.

Good luck gaby_fr25!
Thank you for using fixya.

As I mentioned I have other means for you to try. (Though I understand you want to try your memory in a second PC). That will help determine if the memory is bad or the MB is bad.

The objective is to gain display. Since you have already tried reseating the memory & AGP card, lets move to some other checks. I need to know if anything else in the system turns on. Does the CPU fan spin up? Can you tell if the hard disk drive spins up? Is there a green led light lit on the MB?

The green led on the MB means the MB is receiving power through the 20-pin main connector.

Check the 3-pin power connector for the CPU fan. Lastly, clear the cmos/bios jumper. Look in the manual to pages 5 & 6. Clear the bios (Wait 10 seconds & move the jumper back to normal).

    If you do not have the manual you can download it from EliteGroup at this link;

    You will need Adobe reader to view the manual. Go to Adobe & download from this link;

Waiting on your answers, let me know is the memory works in the second PC.

Hi Gabii,

Your motherboard is running on a Award BIOS, the beep code should be beeping not stop until you switch off the power.

You may need to try a few steps here,

1. Switch of you pc and open up you pc cover.

2 . Pull out the memory (RAM) from the slot by pressing down the clips from each edge, be gentle will you push down the clips from each side. Remember how it was seated when u pull out.

3. After that, put re-seat back the RAM back to the slot by pressing each edges in, firmly but not with excessive power.

4. Try to switch on the pc after you re-seated the RAM. If no success, you hv to repeat the procedure again, but this time clean the RAM's contact with a cloth and contact cleaner, then re-seat it back and try again.

*here's the instruction with diagram to show you how to do it.

and video as well

5. If still no sign of success, you might have to unplug other cards, such as your video card, and re-seat them back, then try again.

Good luck mate, comment here to let me know the progress or any success.

Do remember to rate my solution.. thanks (^_^)

It is either bad or improperly seated RAM or a bad or improperly seated graphics card. Try reseating those components & reboot. Hope this helps.

Ive tried to install a new graphics card in my lenovo thinkcentre pc but nothing shows on the display

Make sure your power supply is big enough and you have plugged everything in. Some video cards require power directly from the power supply with a special 4 plug cable. You can get adapters if your power supply doesn't have the right plug.

Test your PSU or replace it
Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA and

L7VMM2 wont boot (no post) plz help

Sounds like the CMOS battery on the motherboard needs replacing...i would try clearing CMOS first, replace battery and test voltage at the CPU (through the BIOS) If that dosen't help you likely have faulty capacitors.
If you get it to boot, im sure drivers and BIOS will need updates if it's been stored 2 yrs.

Pc has power but nothing shows on screen. motherboard doesnt beep once like it used to when turned on but green light is on indicating its ok.

Remove the ram and check, is the motherboard beeps or not..

it should beep as long beeps....and should continue beeping after serveral times until u switch off it...
then reconnect the ram after swiching off power...

remove the data cables of hdd and cd/dvd and then try to switch it on...
if it works fine then reconnect it properly...

Fault can be in Ram or data cables perhaps...

hope it will fix the issue so dont forget to rate it...

Do you get the boot up screen when you power the computer on? If you can get into the BIOS, make sure your primary video is set for the onboard. Hope this helps.

Power Supply for L7VMM2

well,if you are sure that the new power supply is new and ok,than more than sure,if you dont have any response from the mainboard, that it is damaged by the high tension who allready burned your initial power supply.
I suggest you to visit a specialised service because for now its nothing you can do more.but first be sure you have a quite functional new power supply.
