Question about Philips Magnavox Learning Universal Remote

Can't find original remote for Philips Projection TV mdl 55PP9401

They have new replacements at some places, but none of them have the one important button to the function I need access to.
These TVs have a thing called ''Auto IntelliSense Focus'', which realigns the convergence if it gets out of whack. I just had to replace my two convergence chips, and now the three color tubes are not overlapping correctly so the picture is triple image. Normally you just push the IntelliSense button on the remote, and it automatically aligns everything correctly in about 15 seconds or less. Well I am the second owner of this TV and did not get a remote with it. I have been searching high and low for hours today and no one has an original, anywhere I've checked.
The TV was actually made by Hitachi, even though it's sold by Philips in a Philips cabinet.
I need to know (preferably) where I can find a new old stock, or even a used original remote for this 2001 model TV. The new replacements won't work. I don't understand why Philips bothered to make a new replacement remote for this set, but didn't include such an obviously important feature...????
Is there any chance that there is a Hitachi remote that has this IntelliSense button I need? Is there any other way to access this fuction and properly, automatically align the three color tubes?
From what I have determined in my searches, from talking to people who actually had this model TV, the convergence chips going bad was a common problem. It sure seems to me that there should be a bunch of them sitting around in repair shops for parts and having remotes just gathering dust. Why can't I find one anywhere? I have even checked ebay and Amazon, as well as used remote dealers online.
The model number of the TV is 55PP9401.
Model # of remote is RC201601
Part # 312814713082
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I will try that as soon as I get my TV repairman guy back over here with his remote.

I am also having the same problem. You can access the IntelliSense from the front panel but it takes the remote to start the IntelliSense operation. I called Phillips and the tech told he I was correct, I need the remote or one of those real expensive universal remotes. I still need a remote and it is not available from Phillips anymore.

There is an IntelliSense option on the on screen menu which can be accessed from the front of the set. However, when you execute that menu option, it tell you to press the IntelliSense button on the remote. I think what is needed is a way to program this function into a programmable remote.

If the Menu is legible on screen IntelliSense is available under the Picture tab within the TV's internal menu. You may be able to do it "blindly" by following the user guide available at

You may be able to navigate the Menu without the remote by using the buttons located on the TV itself. May save you a repair bill.

I'm having problems programing my Philips RC19041006/01 remote that came with a Philips 15pf9936/37 15" LCD TV to work on a Magnavox MDV21001F7 DVD Player

Unfortunately, you will not be able to program your TV remote for the DVD Player. The MDV2100F7 was produced in 2010. Your Philips TV was has a manual with a copywrite date of 2003. Other documentation on the Philips site is from 2004 and 2006. (I am assuming that the MDV2100F7 is your model since no MDV21001F7 is listed at Magnavox or Funai (which made the unit).)

The codes in a universal remote control are only for devices released 6 months or more before the remote was programmed. A DVD player released 4 years later is likely to have a different set of control frequencies.

You need a newer remote or control everything with separate remotes. I wish that I had better news for you.

(The manual for the Philips TV is available from the Philips product site. For the Magnavox DVD player documentation, see the Magnavox ( ) site or the Funai support site ( ). At Funai, search for the model number but leave off the brand. They make units for a number of brands.)

Setting up a Philips Universal Remote for a Sanyo television

check out Philips support website for codes and instructions for that individual remote. most of their codes are the same for most of their universal remote controls. I suggest getting the original replacement remote for your TV because then you can easily just put batteries in the remote and not have to worry about programming and loosing codes. get the original at and at the top of the site just type in your model number of you TV and click search. They will set you up with your original remote.
