I connect to my laptop to scan pictures, and each time, each single time the scanner will start scanning an inch but it stops and I get the message Cannot communicate with scanner. Cable may be disconnected or scanner may be turned off. Check status. Scanner driver will be closed. Code: 2,155,0"
The closest I get is it will scan one or two, but same problem persists. Today I totally cannot scan one thing! What is wrong? I've tried everything...

Same problem but with MP600R. Error code 2,155,0. Scanner itself must work - it produces photocopies. It must communicate with PC otherwise it would not deliver "scanner warming up" etc. on the monitor. After hearing scanner travel occuring and progress tracking part way in a box on the PC, it gives in with the error code and scanner switched off etc. message. Printing from PC works OK.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Download the quick start guide from support.symbol.com and reset to default by scanning the code from the PDF manual. This could either be a programmed ASCII prefix, or an error in the codes you are scanning. Have you seen the same problem with more than one scanner?

The solution is via the following MS Word software choices:
From Word tool bar choose: INSERT/PICTURE/FROM SCANNER/then one of two choices, either: WIA-WIA Canon MX430 Series, or choose CUSTOM INSERT (Preferable).

If still have the same error, go to the webpage of the scanner (just enter the IP address of the scanner NIC in Internet Explorer. Go to the bottom left side of the page and click Scan to PC Destination List. Click on the number to the left of the name you are scanning to. check the IP address listed on the webpage and make sure it matches the IP address of the Computer you are scanning to. One of these should fix it.
Hi I had the same problem, at first I thought that it was the original drivers (the ones I got with the printer) so I donwloaded the drivers from the canon website, this did not resolve the problem. What I also tried and it worked for me was connecting the printer to the computer with it's original usb cable. I bought a couple of weekes ago a usb extension cable (about 5 m long). With this extension cable I can print but I can't scan any document, it just gives me the same error. Hope this works also for you. Bye PS: My printer is a Canon Pixma MP190
