Only weeks after arrival the ball bearings on crisper broke. Drawers still worked so I worked around it. Then lettuce froze no matter where it was in the ff compartment. Then icemaker mold quit filling even though water supply was ok. Another work around by making cubes. Then started getting er ff. Called service and eventually discovered a retrofit of the air way was recommended. Worked ok for 3 days then ff compartment regularly measured 58 degrees. Finally forced replacement of fan motor, mother board, LED boards (2), ice maker, frost sensor, etc. This finally occured yesterday and it seems to be working, but I'm not holding my breath and am in a billing dispute from protection agreement people.

No, you can't. The line goes into the mold of the machine with no access there. You have either an air leak in the dispenser area, around the ice shoot possibly, or the resevoir, which is located on the refrigerator side in the lower area behind the drawers is freezing, which is most likely the case. There are vents on the lower section for the crisper drawers. If you take out the drawers you'll find a roll of 1/4 " tubing which they call a resevoir that cools the water down. This is probably frozen, and you can insulate this, but I would raise the temperature in the fridge side or close the vents to the crisper area.
1) the water valve is defective it has one inlet from the house plumbing, two outlets, one for i/m one for water dispenser
2) the reservior that chills the water is frozen, it is located behind the lower crisper drawers in the ref. to see if its frozen remove crispers and shelves and tap on it , if hollow sounding it's not froze if solid sounding its froze. to thaw it turn off unit for at least a hour
You have a restricted condesate drain . You need to disassemble the rear of the freezer, defrost and clean condensate drain. Freezer probably got too cold and froze the condensate in the pan. Which means turning the thermostat to a warmer setting or recalibrating the thermastat internally to a warmer setting or replace thermostat to prevent from happenning again
I have Ge GSS25XSQA SS side by side and the food in the refrigerator drawers (crisper and meat) are freezing. Also the ice dispenser is frozen closed. The water dispenser still works. Want can I do to fix it. Would dirty coils have anything to do with this? Terry
Magtag has dropped the ball on this one... The temp at the top and the bottom of the units are varied. Try turning your temp gauge down just a fraction until the lettuce doesn't freeze. I also suggest getting a temp gauge (cheap) and placing on your top shelf to monitor. Temp should be around 40 degrees.
There is most likely a plugged drain in the freezer section. The easist solution can be to empty the refrigerator and unplug it over night. If this is not possible then the back or bottom should be removed to allow access to the drain and a hair dryer can be used to make defrosting go faster. still takes a while, if there is access in the back of the unit that can be the cause of the plug.
