Question about Lands Phones

1 Answer

No issue, just a question. Looking at RCA 25425RE1 4 line business phone system. If all four lines are busy , will the caller of the 5th call get a busy signal or does the phone have "busy no answer forwarding" to the phones digital voicemail. If so what if all 4 lines are busy and 300 people all call at the same time, will it handle them and send them into voicemail. Thanks for your help.

ANY phone system will have this problem.

If 5 people call in, the first 4 will be answered, but the 5th will get busy, as there are no lines available into your phones voicemail system.

IF, you have voicemail through the phone company, you can get their voicemail feature for extra.

THEN, if 5 people call in, the first 4 go to the phones, and the fifth gets the voicemail greeting.

It would be dependant on the line provider how many calls their voicemail would handle at one time. SO if 500 people call in, 4 get through, and MAYBE 5 go to voicemail, the rest get busy.....

You could look at other systems, say hosted or something with SIP trunks....there are other options....just depends on what you want to spend.

Why made phone early now cant just get busy signals?

Sounds like your phone or line is now short circuit and is holding the line so it appears busy to incoming callers. Try disconnecting the pnone and line right up to the incoming point of your house to find the problem.

When i press busy button on T7316 phone it says set in use

Did you mean "Line" in use?

Caller calling Voice Mail probably tied it up.

Tech needs to program Supervision Disconnect for the line/s and Carrier must do the same so they talk to each other.
So when callers hangs up a disconnect signal tells the system to hang up.
90 percent of the time the tech had it programmed but the carrier did not.

According to the manual, the RCA 25413 does not support Caller ID. I have provided a link where you can download the manual. The manual is for model numbers 25413 and 25414. On page 8 it details how to turn caller ID on/off for each line under Ringer Tone heading item 6 Note, but the note says it does not apply for model 25413. Hope this helps.

I cannot program caller id

According to the spec sheet your phone is not equipped with a caller ID function. This is fairly common in multi-line business phones.

How do u work a rca office telephone

RCA & GEt offers a handy 4 line business phone that's perfect for most small businesses. Have up to 8 lines by stacking 2 sets of phones on your desk. It's easy to setup because it doesn't require any special phone control center or software. Just hook them up like any other 1 line or 2 line phones system and your business is ready to go. You'll have up to 8 phone lines with the ability to place calls on hold, transfer, conferencing, hands free speakerphone and much more

Disabled phone line

Sounds like the answering machine is picking up the telephone line and not releasing it.

Hence the busy signal, cause the answering machine has the line off hook. It's like leaving your telephone off hook, the next caller will get a busy signal...

The answering machine might be bad... have you noticed that you were talking on the phone and hung up then the next call would be the busy signal? Maybe test this out.
Do you have the correct voltage to the answering machine, too much power or too little power can do funny things to telephone equipement.

Caller id

Unfortunately just adding caller ID to your phone line will not work with many business phone systems, especially older systems.

You can have this phone on one of several different Toshiba phone systems. The system must have caller ID equipment installed and programmed correctly for caller ID information to be shown on your phone's display.

Caller ID information is transmitted between the first and second ring. With business phone systems the system itself needs to collect this information and then pass it along to any phones that are programmed to ring at any given time.
