Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
Hello! I just got a brand new PS3, 80GB, and I hooked it up using the regular AV Controller. The TV I hooked it up to is not an HD or flatscreen TV, but is probably only 4-8 years old. It is a JVS. When I hook up the PS3 to any of the AV connections, the PS3 screen has a series of white interference lines that run up and down the screen. This does not occur with any other device hooked up to the TV (i.e. cable and a DVD player).
Is this a problem with the PS3, or the wires? Or is it possibly a compatability problem? I have not yet tried to hook up the PS3 to an HDTV that is also in my house to see if that fixes the problem. Should I try that? Like I said, the PS3 was bought brand new, and this was the first time I hooked it up, and I made sure that all of the connectors were secure. I also tried it in multiple inputs, and still the same effect.
This may be due to the fact that your ps3 will be set up to hd. go into video settings when you switch it on and this should solve the problem. i had similar problems and bought a hdtv until someone pointed this out to me. however once you have experienced ps3 in hd you will not go back!!! hope this helps

Hi there. There might be some solution out there that would work for you, KboxMod. Here it is : To reset the display settings of the Xbox 360 console to the default settings, remove any discs from the disc tray. Turn the console off and turn it back on. As the console starts, press and hold the Y button, and then pull the right trigger at the same time. The Xbox Dashboard resets the display settings to the default settings, and then automatically restarts the console. Note: If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn the console on by using the Xbox Guide button on the controller. Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller will have the upper-left quadrant light illuminated. Try it a few times, some say it took a few retries to get it working. It might just need a reset of those video settings. Hope that helps, cheebster.
