I would assume that you haven't installed the sound driver. Please let me know which Operating System is installed on your Laptop. You have to download the sound driver from the Toshiba official website after selecting the O.S. This is the direct download link for your Laptop (Click Here).

Let me know with details if you need further help. Good Luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Access the manufacturer's web-site: http://www.toshiba.com and click "support" or "download". Enter your model-number, and see if their web-site contains "audio" device-drivers for Windows XP.

No sound on my speaker

It would mean that there are NO DRIVERS installed for that device. what you need to do is go to the toshiba web site and download the CORRECT drivers for your sound card.

Its not a big problem you just need to ensure you use the correct model when you search Toshiba for drivers in the support area

SOUND DRIVER

Kindly check your sound settings first. It must no be on mute. Check also the physical knob for the volume control. If you have an earphone to try, then it might help to determine if there is no problem with the speakers. Also you need to try windows media player, cause it might be the settings on the software that you are currently using. If you are not sure for the correct driver for the sound card, you can find it it the Recovery CD of this notebook. (TOSHIBA RECOVERY DISK, DRIVERS and APPLICATION). The most appropriate sound card driver is in that disk. If still unresolved, try running PC Diagnostics for the speakers and sound card. The sound card might be defective as a last option.
