Question about Lucent PARTNER18 Corded Phone

Lucent Partner VMS, we are locked out of an extension mail box,

How do we administrively override and change password if we can't get in to administer greeting or change password.

    As a system admin log into the admin mailbox.

    If you do not know the admin mailbox, you will need to indicate which voicemail you have.

    When dialing into voicemail, it will say....
    Welcome to Partner mail vs......
    welcome to partner voice messaging.....
    welcome to partner mail.....
    need to know that.

when prompted to enter a mailbox.....

dial 4 for mailboxes
enter mailbox number
listen for prompt to re-initialize mailbox password
done

    I have a similar problem that is bot fixed with the above directions. The mailbox continues to be locked and says "login locked due to multiple logins" Can this be reset?

The default password on partner voicemails is 1234. The reason for the call returning to the extension that transferred the call to the new extension is probably because the cover vms isn't set up for the new extension.
To check the vms cover for that extension, at either extension 10 or 11 press feature 00 and press the left hand intercom button twice. The display will say system programming.
Enter #310, the display will sayAutomatic VMS Cover Extension:
enter in the extension number of the new extension.
The screen will say either "1 assigned" or "2 not assigned"
enter in 1 (assigned)
press feature 00 when finished.

Depending on the type of voicemail you have, you''ll have to login to the admin mailbox. That's done by pressing your voicemail key or intercom 777. If you have a Partnermail VS the admin mailbox is 99 with the default password of 1234. If you mave a Partner Messaging System the admin mailbox is 0 with a default password of 1234 or 123456. Once your into the admin mailbox press 9 for admin programming. ,(depending on version) press either 2 or 4 administer extensions, enter the mailbox number of the box you want to reset, press 3 to re initalize the password, hang up when done. Your password will be the defaulted to1234.

I have a lucent 18d partner phone system and I need to get into the hidden extention to change the automated voice message and can I use anyphone or the main one and how do you know what the main Phone is


Depending on the type of vioce mail you have your administration mailbox is either 0 or 99 with a default password of either 1234 or 123456. Accessing the admin mbox can be done from any extension.

The phone rings 3 times and goes to voicemail on the 4th ring. How do I change it to pick up on the 8th ring?


I don't think its a good idea to back the vms cover rings to 8. The furthest I'd go is maybe 6.
Changing the VMS cover rings on a Partner system is done on either ext 10 or 11.
At one of those ext's press the feature key and "00"
next press the left hand intercom twice
the display should say system programming
enter in "#321"
the display should say VMS Cover Rings and ask for an extension number
enter the extension number you wish to change
The current ring data should be displayed
enter in new data (8 ring if you wish)
press feature "00" to logout

I have an Lucent Avaya phone system and I am trying to find out how to change the extension list. I am not sure which extension is the system admin as well. Any help?


Asked under Partner. The Admin phones for they SYSTEM is 10 and 11. The VM can be administered from anyone with a password.

Partner 18D System - Voicemail


Your telephone can be used on different Avaya phone systems and you can have different voice mail systems. They all program differently.

Someone should have administrative rights to the voice mail. They can delete voice mail boxes and create new ones or maybe just change the password. If you do not have a phone system administrator, you would need to determine what voice mail system and what phone system you have. All the manuals are available at www.avaya.com

Most likely you have a Partner ACS system but there are different versions. You could also use these phones on a Magix system and other Partner systems.
