My hotpoint dryer has. stopped spining everything rlse is ok please help model TLS61p

Do you hear the motor running? If so then it is probably just the belt that has broken...if there is no motor spinning, then the motor may have become defective or the start capacitor may be bad causing the motor to not start

Hotpoint dryer stop working

if its the same as my dryer CTD40 (or similar) then you have to remove the sides to check into the dryer if anything is stuck, i had a plastic burning smell once and found it was one of the runner wheels had dislodged and was scraping on the drum just re-aline the wheel if it is that, they do come off easily if the dryer has been moved, as i found out. also you will find that the sound of the dryer will change, (scrapeing noise) dont let an engineer lie to you and tell you the bearings have gone, (when i say engineer i mean when you call one out NOT Fixit engineers)
Good luck

Hotpoint TDC 30P

Ask your husband to open the service panel and to touch the motor boady when the washer will stop spining. If it is very hot,the problem is with the motor. Before moving to the next step he should unplugged the power cable ! He should then to pull out the motor's brushes (2 carbon units that transfered the current to the motor's armature) and check their condition. If they are in a bad condition they should be replaced. Let me know if you will need for further assistance. Good luck!
