Jean: May I suggest that you contact Rich's Vac & Sew Tell him you need a "budget" solution for the baby lock cards. I bet they will have some ideas.

SOURCE: downloading emb. patterns to a memory card

Hello
You need the Memory Craft Reader Writer before you can copy to a Memory Card, I bought for my Janome 5700 and it works great.

SOURCE: I have a fairly new Baby Lock Ellure Plus and when

Hi Lisa, I have the same machine. When I had that problem I was told that the design I was trying to do was to large for the machine. Basically it needs to be about a 5" x 7" design. When I put a smaller design in the machine was able to read it. Hope this helps! I'm still learning too.

SOURCE: I bought a Baby Lock.Ellure embroider/sewing

I have a Babylock Ellure Plus. To space between words there is a _ on the front with the letters. This will insert a space.

How do you start a new line when embroidering on a baby lock ellure plus?

I don't believe there is a text wrap function on this model. You will have to stitch your first line and then start a new design and layout to be positioned where you want it. You can trial to make sure it is placed properly.

Can I space between words with my baby lock ellure embroidery machine

Yes. If you are using the built in fonts, the "space" is after the letters & numbers and just before the "open parenthesis". It looks like the underscore.

Hi! I am planning to buy a babylock machine. iread about, but I still don,t know what to buy between Sofia 2 and Ellure Plus.

Looking at the babylock.com website the Ellure Plus has more stitches although they are both machine embroidery machines. The Ellure Plus has a larger embroidery field than the Sofia though so this may well clinch it, 4" x 4" versus 5" x 7", I know I would go for the larger embroidery field so I didn't need to reset the hoop.

I guess though it comes down to price and will you use all the extra features of the Ellure Plus. If you are mainly doing clothing and home dec then you really don't need the embroidery features at all, its a personal preference though.

Have you been in for a demonstration and used both machines yourself? Sometimes the little things will crystilise the decision for you. Look at ease of threading up, lighting in the sewing area, size of the free arm and how easy it is to program and set up the embroidery functions. Then decide if the extra cost is worth it, sometimes its better to spend more now and not outgrow the machine's functions, but you know what your sewing needs are so its something you have to weigh up.

I'm having trouble centering my frame to begin embroidering and am unable to find it in the manual.

See if there is a lever on the front of the plate where the hoop slips in. This should be up to open and once the hoop is in place, down to lock.

Have you looked at your manual or bought the more expensive machine book from your dealer?
I wasn't happy at the addtional cost at the time (I spent $2200 US that day) BUT
I have found my book for my Evolve a VERY good investment (70 bucks, but worth every penny these past 2 years!) You may find the same for your Ellure.

Baby Lock have very good cust. service either on the web or right at your dealer. Most dealers will give free lessons upon your request.
I hope this helped, PS I'm a bit jealous.... I REALLY wanted that machine too!
Happy Sewing and Good luck with your baby!
