SOURCE: Dynamite Dirt Devil Hose

I figured out how last night.
Take a screw driver and unscrew the screw on the top of hose and take the hose out and take a pen or something long enough with grip to get all of the junk out.

The circulation still isn't as strong though.

SOURCE: our dirt devil bagless upright

Hi, no im afraid its not that easy, the problem is with the wire that goes into the vac from the mains, now you see where the mains lead goes through in the back of the vac well what happens is when you vacing and moving the vac around this part wears and causes a short or loss of connection, now it usually happens when your using it then the free cable runs out and it pulls on the vac when you try goign further than the wire reaches, so the problem you are having is with the connection between the wire and the on/off switch, this is a very common fault with all vacs of this type.

to fix it your going to need to remove the cylinder and see if their is an access panel on the front of the vac behind the cylinder you take off to empty.

how ever if you have no electrical skills then its not safe for me to tell you how to do this repair, if you get it wrong you could do harm to anyone who uses the vac ok so be warned i have told you this ok.

the work involves removing the panel the other side of the switch then you need to undo the wires going to the switch you then need to pull the mains wire out of the vac so its no longer connected then cut it back 3 or 4 inches so as the part that is faulty has gone then you need to fit it all back together the right way round and make sure their is no bare wire showing and that it is all secure and then it should work.

but before you do all that check the fuse in the plug first as if its got hot this fuse may have blown so i would check that first before you decide what to do next ok.

it wont cost much to pay someone to do this as it wont require any parts, if you could take it to a reapir shop yourself then that will be even cheaper as you wont be paying a call out fee, also check if you have any warranty left on it as this fault wil be covered

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

please can you rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

If it is only 2 months old, then it is under warranty, take it in for warranty repair. There may be a circuit breaker on it, usually on the back at the bottom, it there is, push it to see if it has tripped.

SOURCE: dirt devil easy steamer need directions to use

Thank you for responding to my question. I should have spent some time really looking at my little machine. It wasn't hard to figure out -once I found and read the back of the cleaning solution bottle and tried my luck following the water to cleaner ratio.. Opening, adding the cleaning solution and water and re-closing the reservoir was pretty easy. Everything worked out fine...and my carpet is...spotless. Thank you, Cmarie

SOURCE: would like to know if

They should work the same, the advantage to the cleanable ones are you can reuse them for a while. But even those get to a point where cleaning doesn't help. But they should last a few years. The disposable ones you have to replace often, so you just have to decide which is cheaper and better for you.

I need owners manual and belt size for my dirt devil model # UD20100 MFG A1A AJ

The manual for the Dirt Devil Cyclonic II (UD20100) is available from the manufacturer's product site: http://dirtdevil.com/products/details/ud20100/dynamite-cyclonic-ii/ . Click on the link for the manual below the Where to Buy link. The current direct link is http://dirtdevil.com/file/280/ . If you click on the Parts tab, you'll see an option to buy a replacement belt. The company refers to this belt as Belt Style 15 with the part number of 1SN0220001. The direct link to order a belt from the manufacturer is http://dirtdevil.com/parts/details/1sn0220001/belt-style-15/ . Other sites, like Amazon.com, have the belt and may be cheaper.

I hope this helps.

How do I change the belt on a dirt devil dynamite II cyclonic

Hi! Happy to help with that. Please follow the steps below.

  • Lay cleaner flat and flip cleaner to expose nozzle base. Base should lay flat and face up. To remove nozzle guard, use Phillips screwdriver to remove the three (3) screws.
  • Lift and remove brushroll. Dispose of old belt.
  • Slide belt onto motor shaft.
  • Place new belt in area of brushroll without bristles.
  • With new belt in place, pull and slide brushroll into nozzle making sure that the brushroll end cap on the left is in the correct orientation. Rotate brushroll manually to make sure belt is properly aligned.
  • Reattach nozzle guard by carefully sliding back into place. Interlock rollers and nozzle guard by tilting rollers down towards the base while replacing the nozzle guard.
  • Be sure to replace all three (3) screws.
Hope this helps!

Belt drive keeps melting every belt we put on

usually that means something is stopping the brushes from spinning weather it is not greased well or just something still there I can't tell you but that is the broblem. You could try asking in a vac store/repair if they've had a fair amount of that model doing this and reccomomend a slightly different size .thickness belt to take up some slack

The vaccum doesn't pick up dirt, it sprays out

There is probably a second or third filter (besides the canister) that needs to be cleaned.
I doubt that it's rotating the wrong direction.

If the filters have been washed and installed back in instantly there wont be any suction. Check the top filters have been cleaned thoroughly and also check inspection tubes/hose and dust channels to check for a clog. Also check the sole plate / bottom of where the beater bar as there may be a clog somewhere.
