Question about Samsung SL420 / PL60 Digital Camera

1 Answer

The back-light on my Samsung PL60 digital camera is not lit, but the camera seems to be taking photos. The battery is fully charged.

The camera was bought before Christmas 2010, so it's probably out of guarantee. It has 10.2 mega pixels and 5x optical zoom

You are right about the warranty. The camera needs to be repaired or replaced which ever is cheaper.

SOURCE: zoom error - samsung digital camera 4.0 mega pixels

Most likely the lens has been knocked out of aligment. If you look head on at the lens. The gap should be the same all the way around. You can try and "click" it back in to place yourself. Otherwise the camera is in need of repair, which based on most peoples level of experience should be left to a professional.
Thanks,
Lee

Do you really need a driver?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo management program.

Samsung ES90 Digital camera will only take 8 photos then says memory full even when fully charged

The Samsung ES90 only has about 37MB of built-in memory. The state of the battery has no effect on this. If you want to take more photos then you can either make them smaller, or better yet, add a memory card.

Olympus C-765 - won't take photos anymore. Memory card is fine and camera has worked perfectly for the past two years. Does anybody have a solution? The camera seems to function as normal, but when I press...

Reset the menus to default or factory settings.
Then test the camera again.
Make sure that the battery is fully charged or new.
You might consider to buy a new battery (Ebay is a good place) for this camera. Then test.
Problems like this can show up when the battery is weak or not fully charged.
You may try to remove the battery for 24 hours and then after try it again.

My samsung l730 digital camera doesnt stay on when switched on Just shows blue light and goes off again

Take battery out and clean terminals on Battery and in Camera
[An eraer on end of pencil is good for this]
Make sure battery is fully charged.
or
Take to a dealer and ask for a fresh battery to try of it works replace the battery.
If none of this works and the camera is over 1 year old [out of warranty]
replace the camera.

Samsung L200 10.2

I called 1-800-samsung, and they sent me a new battery. After the problem insisted, they asked me to ship the camera back to them (still under warranty). The concluded that the cable was defective, and they shipped me a new one within 1 week. That was fast!!!

Red Flash mark while taking photo

It sounds to me like you are not waiting for the camera to charge the flash when turning the camera on or between shots. It seems you are using 1700mAh batteries and most modern digital cameras are better off using 2500mAh batteries. Your camera was released in September 2006 so it is considered "modern". With 1700mAh batteries, your flash (warm-up) recycle time time will be rather long or the amperage may not be enough to fully charge the flash unit. I highly recommend Duracell 2500mAh rechargeable batteries.
