When you say it won't print from M/S Word, does the system go to print mode and there is no print out or doesn't Word recognize that you are trying to print?

CANON PRINTER MP560 WONT PRINT IN BLACK

Hi,

This is seems to be weird issue you are facing with the printer. I would like to know what is the application you are trying to print from ? Is it Microsoft word etc ? Try to type something in Notepad and print and check if the black is printed.

If you are able to print from Notepad then probably it there are chances the application you are tying to use is corrupted and might need to uninstall and reinstall

Regards,
Suhail

My printer will not print black from a program on my Pc. I can copy or scan and it will print in black. The color is fine.

The problem is with the Program not the Printer. adjust the settings while printing from that program in printing preferences. try to print any microsoft word document.also, Open the kodak all in one home center on your desktop and click on [?] on top most right hand side. choose maintenance under general links and choose printhead cleaning.this should solve the issue keep me posted.

Cant print black or do black and white copies

He's not saying that the black cartridge won't print (which would warrant cleaning the heads, or messing with the cartridges) -- I have the same problem that MarkDan is having as well... no matter what you select as the output from any "Print" dialog window, the HP 21xx and 12xx series printers _always_ print in full color. You can choose Black and White, Greyscale, Color -- doesn't matter what you choose in the dialog boxes, it utterly ignores you, and will always print in color.
I have no idea why it does this, but it's eating a _ton_ of color ink for no good reason. I have searched all over the Web and on HP's site, but solution has been found.

Not printing after color cartridge ran out - new black cartridge installed.

Yes, this printer has fixed printheads and must have ink in each color to prevent damage to the printheads. Even when printing black only each color is spit in the servicing area to keep the printhead unclogged.

Error 9-363

NOTE: The problem occurs because of the trickle development system in the machine, making extended lengths of black and white copies / prints does not allow the black developer housing to purge itself of excess waste Toner (Dry Ink) and Developer. There are two solutions for the problem:
  • Make 1,000 copies / prints of a black and white job, then make 150 copies / prints of full color. Continue making 1,000 copies / prints of the black and white job, then 150 full color, and so on, until the entire black and white job is complete.
  • Make extended jobs in groups of 100 by making 100 copies / prints of the black and white job, then allowing the machine to cycle down (return to 'Ready') and making the next 100 copies / prints. Continue in this pattern until the entire black and white job is complete.
NOTE: The above solutions are based on jobs using 8.5 x 11 inch paper, single sided, with no more than 28% coverage.
