Thanks Max for your input, my mobo has a 14 pin connector, someone brought me this system in a box, dead on arrival. Have changed mobo, PSU had memory tested at a local vendor. Foxconn related this board was built for Gateway and they did not have a users manual. Cannot find a way to talk to a live person at Gateway! I could always do the screw driver jump test but I do not want to take the chance of smoking this board!

Unfortunately Gateway was bought by Acer in 2007. I had a Gateway in the early 90's excellent support. That said, Foxconn is a giant electronics manufacturer in China, another dead end. You are basicly, "Flying Solo" . Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

SOURCE: Gateway 507GR Wont Power-On

Sounds to me the like soft on/off power switching in power supply itself is not working. Try another supply or if u have a tester try that. Wont be the motherboard or nothing at all would be happening.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: i have a gateway gt5662 given to me from a friend

If it was the CPU it should still give you some sort of beep or diagnostic code.
On the back of the power supply there is some times a little light, when you power up if there is an issue with the power supply it will blink or change colors. Some times the power supply testers will light up green but there still can be issues and you need to use a voltage meter to do a more advanced test.
Have you tried removing any extra hardware and then trying the boot?

I don´t have the foxconn motherboard manual "661m08"

Most mobo's have the connection points printed on them. Use a strong flashlight and look for some pins that have the following words printed near them (PW or PWR, RS or RST, HDD LED, etc) They should all be grouped together in the same corner of the mobo. Have you tried googling the motherboad name to find a manual? I have done that on a few occasions and got lucky.

Have Dell E210882 MTB and need pwr-switch pin locations

No, don't automatically assume the mobo is broken. Look closely at all the pins. There should be a 4x2 rectangle of pins, maybe coloured. They'll say things like 'PWR-SWTCH' and 'çPU-LIGHT'
Connect those up, and your mobo manual should have specific details on what goes where.

Either way will work! No worries, it is just a switch. Just think about it. A jumper wire would work as well, right?

Motherboard shorted

Unless you have about a $3000 soldering machine and lots of skills soldering, i would say just get a new mobo. the cost to fix it would be lots more than its worth
