the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

SOURCE: Just purchased a Kodak Ektagraphic AF1 &

The model AF-1 did not have remote focus feature. It does have the Auto-Focus feature. The auto-focus adjustment is a pretty "fine-tune" adjustment that requires a factory alignment tool & a trained hand.
Your model AF is quite old, and probably requires replacement of the "link" that connects the slide change solenoid to the slide change mechanism. The problem is the plastic the "link" was made of gets brittle over the years and cracks, rendering slide change non-functional.
Both problems are easily remedied by a qualified repair dealer with the tools, training and parts.

SOURCE: Model 760 H projector-- Carrousel advances, but slides do not

My guess is that your slides are in a 140-slide tray.
Over time, with repeated cycles of humidity & drying, slides warp slightly. The compartment width in a 140-slide tray is quite narrow, and it takes very little warping to make slides stick in their individual compartments. If you move the slides to a KODAK 80 Slide Tray you should be in much better shape.

SOURCE: model 750H overheated and guide says

That is correct. There are 2 thermal fuses: 1 near the lamp, 1 on the power motor. This repair should be made by a factory-trained tech.

SOURCE: Automatic slide changer is stuck in

The problem is continuous cycle (like you don't know that already...). It indicates that an adjustment to the cycle contact is necessary. To open the projector, first unplug it and remove the lamp module from the rear of the projector. Turn the projector upside down. Remove the 6 - T15 TORX screws from the bottom (5 around the perimeter and one in the channel next to the cord wrap). CAREFULLY pull the bottom off (the power wires connect the bottom cover & top together!!). Once you have it open, leave the projector upside down, put on your safety glasses & plug the projector into the wall. At the center of the projector you should see a hub rotating about every second or so. Above it you should see a "J"-shaped wire. See the attached illustration.
You will have to, in repeated steps, unplug the projector, bend the "J"-shaped wire GENTLY & SLIGHTLY, plug the projector back in and cycle it a few times. Check for the position of the "J"-shaped wire to the pad, and GENTLY repeat until you achieve the position shown in the illustration.
Good Luck !!jauburn_7.jpg

Contact the Eastman House in Rochester, NY for a possible lead for a repair manual and/or a qualified repair person. I will tell you that Kodak has not had parts for Pageant Projectors in about 20 years - - - but many authorized repair dealers may still have some!!

This projector was manufactured by Kodak in Stuttgart, Germany. You can check with Langie AudioVisual on East Commercial Street in East Rochester, NY. They were the last dealer I know of that still had a technician trained on the Carousel S. I don't have manuals for that model. Sorry I can't be of more help!

My Windows XP is connected to my Epson Powerlite S3, but the screen is blue with the words Source: Computer (Auto) No Signal on it. When I click "Help" on the projector, it takes me to a screen...

'No signal' and 'unsupported signal' messages mean 1 of 2 things, either the VGA output is off(laptop) or the display resolution is set too high(laptop and desktop). Assuming the VGA cable you are using is good, try this:

Desktop: hook the computer back up too your computer monitor & set the computer to the basic VGA resolution. For windows XP, right click a blank area on the desktop, click 'properties' on the dropdown menu, click settings. Write down the numbers in the 'screen resolution' and 'color quality' boxes!

Drag the 'screen resolution' all the way down to then 'less' side. Then change the 'color quality' to the lowest setting. Click apply, then answer yes (the display will look UGLY - don't worry!!) Now connect your computer back to your projector. If it works, then the resolution you use on your desktop monitor is not supported on your projector. Experiment with different resolutions to see which one looks best on your projector. You will need to change the settings each time you switch monitor to projector.

Laptop: by default the VGA connector on your laptop is off. To turn it on, look for a blue symbol on one of your function (F1, F2, F3...) keys. It looks like an old TV with a line on both sides 'O' (F4 on HP) Press & hold the blue button (on the lower left of the keyboard, usually to the left of control ) and tap the bleu button you just found. Let go & give you're a computer a few seconds to change over. If the laptop screen goes blank, you found the correct button! The display image should now be visible. Repeat this 1 to 2 times to change it back to laptop display.

If you did not see the display on the projector, 2 other issues are possible. First, verify that the VGA output on the laptop is working - connect the laptop to a regular computer monitor & change the display resolution to the lowest settings (see desktop above), then try it again on the projector. If you cannot get an image on a computer monitor, your laptop settings may need to be adjusted in the same dialogue box as the settings. Monitor #1 is the laptop display, Monitor #2 is the external output.
Happy viewing :)

You can try to blow the fans with compressed air available in a can at most stores. Make sure the pj is unplugged as the air is flammable. Use a flashlight to locate the fans behind any vented areas around the case. If it doesn't help it may still be a fan you cannot get to or the lamp ballast may be failing to start the lamp. Also check user guide to see if there is a lamp hour reset procedure to zero the hours by pressing the menu or remote buttons in a specific order. Sometimes PJs shut down & will not restart if the lamp has gone past it's limit.
