You did the opposite of what might be useful. Completely cut of it's AC supply, pull the plug out of the socket and leave it like that for 10 minutes. Plug back in but first making sure the manual power button is off on the set, not in standby mode. (pushed in) Then push the manual button to restore standby mode and switch set into full on mode with the remote. It will either have "rebooted" and work straight away or you'll need to put it into Auto Set Up mode. Proceed as the first sections relevant from the instructions.
Please try these following steps, they should bring your PS3 back to life :
Step 1. Turn the PS3 off into standby (red light on)
Step 2. Press and hold the power button. It will beep as soon as you press it and then about 5 seconds later it will beep again. Let go of the power button when you hear this second beep.
Step 3. Wait for your PS3 to start.
This solution basically resets the video output back to standard definition.
I have the same problem, my Bush LCD worked fine last night but won't turn on today. The main power button on the TV puts it onto standby but the remote or the buttons on the side won't turn it on!....HELP!
ok go to youtube and type" PS3 REPAIR/FIX" basicly what you do is put the ps3 on standby (the red light on) and then turn the main power off (the back switch) then hold the I/O button in the front (the on switch you use to put on standby) just hold it until it will go to standby then hold the I/O button again (the standby button) and then keep holding it until you hear one beep, then wait for two quick beeps. Then there should be a menu and select "Restore Defualt Settings". If it dosent work CONTACT SONY!
If the sound is like an electrical arcing from the back left as you look at it the probable cause is the LOPT (Line output transformer) get this repalced and the set should be good.
If it as a clicking from just behind the front controls, the 5V standby transformer needs replaced.
Ive changed fuses on the plug but still nothing......when you say power supply you mean what exactally?
Cheers
