SOURCE: I have a Rinnai 308FTR heater and the first time I
Means failed ignition/no gas.
Check gas supply.
SOURCE: NO HOT WATER N THE PILOT NOT LIGHTING UP
The thermocouple has gone bad.The thermocouple needs to be directly in the pilot flame. When the thermocouple goes out,the flame most of the time will have burned the thermocouple tip a way.If it was not for this devise, the gas would exscape, and fill the home up.This is a safety feature.

I am in a mountain town in Colorado and the only heating repair guy has not called back. Brrr, HELP!
It is an ES38 and I took the front cover off. I dont think the 5A fuse is blown and I dont see any other fuses?
Well, I'm awesome and fixed it myself. Just in case anyone else out there has this problem and Rinnai cutomer service cannot help you, this is what I did: I unplugged the unit and turned off the gas. I took the front off and unplugged the wires going to the controls and plugged them back in. I made sure the fuse was not bad and that it was tight. I plugged it back in and turned the gas back on. FIXED. Glad I didnt waste money on a service call. I cant beleive the customer service at Rinnai did not suggest this. Hmmm.
Do I get points for solving my own problem? ;)
