SOURCE: have no power to my

If you have checked the power cord and found Ok, then check its two ends connected with the device, with a multimeter, ser in KOhms range, and see whether there is any continuity or not. If not either fuse inside it or its mains transformer is damaged. If found no continuity, open your set with care, and check the fuse first. You can locate it very near to the AC inlet of that device. In some JVC sets, a thermal fuse, built inside the mains transofrmer, is there, will gets opened, when the transformer overheats. It will be there between the primary and secondary windings, sandwiched inot the transformer and can be replaced. These are the possible causes that you described here; as no power is entering into the device.
Check these first. If you wants furthermore assistance, feel free to contact me through Fixya.

SOURCE: someone lost the power cord

There's probably nothing special about the original power cord, so I'd go to Radio Shack and get it for $8

Or you may have an unused one from other device lying around the house.

Will not turn on power lead ok and power to unit and fuse appears ok

There might well be a fuse. Look around the area where the power cord goes in and around the transformer.

No power on my JVC Kaboom

I would rule out the power supply simply because the batteries won't run it either. The internal plug that takes the cord should be checked for cracked solder joints, because the plug goes to battery mode when cord is removed and AC fuction when cord is plugged in. It is possible it may be an audio output problem given the age of the item.

The radio works fine on batteries but not from the ac supply, whichunit checks out ok

Hi terry,
Try to check the power cord, it might be open due to frequent bending or pulling. If you confirmed that the power cord is ok then the trouble now is the ff :
1. Internal fuse
2. Thermal fuse of the transformer - If your transformer is open primary winding, check it inside the transformer. This is placed inside the paper insulator.
If you don't have an experienced in electronics then I've advice you to look for a qualified technician to isolate the problem.
Hope it may help you.
Have a nice day!

There is nothing on the display, conditioner is death. The power is coming, fuse on the PCB is OK?

Check power to transformer (220volts---24/12volts Dc) which leads to function PCB. If 24 or 12 dc is o.k, then you have replace PCB only.If no output of DC, replace transformer. Thanks.

Does not start. The power cord, plug, etc., are O.K.

Hello :

Maybe there's a problem with the power transformer or the power PCB [ Printed circuit board ] . Or it could be just a fuse . You need to check first . If it's the fuse , then that will be easy to solve , you need only to replace it with new one . But if the problem is with the transformer or with the PCB , you need to take your microwave to the service for repairing .

To locate the fuse, remove the outer cabinet of the unit, which is usually held in place with a few screws. Once the outer cabinet is removed, follow the power cord into the unit. It will take you to the fuse holder, where the fuse sits. The fuse holder is located two or three inches into the unit, and may be attached to a power board .

CAUTION: Your microwave oven is capable of giving you a serious electrical shock, even when it is unplugged. I strongly suggest you seek the assistance of an appliance repair technician when conducting any microwave oven repair .

good luck .

Power turns off randomly

Hello :

First check the power cord ! If it's OK , then you need to check if the fuses are OK also . If fuses are OK , then the problem is with the power PCB . Fuses are easy to be replaced . Power PCB is a bit complicated . You need to take your coffee maker to a repair shop for that .

good luck .

Nad c350 no power at all

Solution if all fuses checked out OK and +/-40V are present on main PCB DC connector from power supply:
Check for +37V and -37V on small sub-power supply PCB - mounted vertically on the main power supply PCB. (next to ribbon cable connector is a layout with voltages.) If the +/-37V are missing check (replace) C501 (0.1uF) on the small power supply PCB for leakage, but also check (replace) R401 (2R2) and R402 (2R2) on the main power supply PCB. Both resistors are fuse-resistors and will have gone open circuit when C501 has gone leaky.

Where is the fuse on a Philips FR 965 AV receiver

Hi Hibbs8829
Generally fuses are located on the PCB attached to the power transformer terminations. In some instances the only primary fuse may be a thermal fuse located inside the power transformer that may have failed. This one you cannot see from the outside. They are replaceable, but you will need to get into the transformer somewhat to sort it out. Other than that, there are often fusible resistors and circuit protector devices on the PCB. These can be a little difficult to find if you don't know what you are looking for. Good luck

Nad amp failure

Check fuses mounted near transformer . If blown check output transistor. Also check transistor transistors on small heat sink . they will cause fuse to blow.
