Question about Delta & Single Handle Shower Faucet
My shower faucet is continuously running water. It won't stop. Pls suggest what could be the issue and best way to go about fixing it.
It depends on what type of fixture you have. If you have a cartridge type, the cartridge needs to be replaced. If you have something like an older Crane model, there is a knurled, round nut between the handle and escutcheon that will sometimes work it's way loose and keep you from turning the water off. Just turn it back in until finger tight.

Remove the handle by opening the little red/blue cap. Use a hex key to remove the handle. Remove the tope ring holding in the cartridge in. Take out the cartridge and you will most likely see particles blocking it. make sure you use a little valve lube or vasline on the seals before you put it back in so you will have smooth operation. If that doesnt cure it just replace the cartridge at lowes or home depot and bring the old one.

sounds like the diverter is jamed. it may be in the spout or a button in the escheuchon. if spout try to unjam the pull up knob or the pull down ring. if in the escheuchon remove part and replace.

There is a restriction in the faucet or the piping to the faucet on the hot wtaer side...this will be very hard to find and fix... The shower uses less water so it will get hot.... the tub spout allows more water flow so you cannot get the water more then warm...
Take the faucet apart and blow out all the passage ways with air... also run some water from the piping while the guts are out of the faucet, to flush the piping...
Hopefully this will fix you up...
