I need pinouts for the sony vaio pcv-1116's motherboard

I have been given a case for a sony vaio pcv-1116 that I'd like to setup with another motherboard. However, the front panel connectors are non standard so I'm looking for the original motherboard's pinouts so I can adapt the case to the new motherboard

This is Not a Solution. Using Solution box as a Clarification/ Comment box.

What other model numbers are there listed? I should be able to cross-reference a PCV-1116, but cannot. Once I find the motherboard, I may be able to tell you what the pinouts are.
(Such as Front Panel header pinout on the motherboard)

Hiya, The only reference number (apart from the windows license sticker) is the model number given above. All I have is the bare case with PSU, nothing more. Best Regards, Pete

Actually I'm trying to put the cart in front of the horse; Having READ the letters you typed this time............Remove the Front Panel. See if you can follow the wires up to the HDD activity LED (Light) [HarDDrive ] This LED is usually spaced away from the Power On switch, and Power On LED. Now follow the wires up towards the Power On LED. You can look at the front of the Front Panel, and compare to the back; to see if the two wires you are looking at, head towards that LED. Process of elimination, now. You know the last two wires go to the Power On switch. Same thing with Front Panel USB port/s, 1394a Firewire port/s; Headphone, and Microphone jacks. Is your indication you have no motherboard, as yet? Well when you do it will have pinouts listed for the motherboard, and jumpers IF used; in the Motherboard User Manual. This isn't what you are referencing, or if you have additional questions, post in a Comment. Regards, joecoolvette

What connectors are leading from the front-panel?
One "clump" of wires and one connector, or several separate connectors?

SOURCE: Need pinout for front pannel connector J60H1

The E210882 number is a certification mark for some Intel motherboards. But that is not the number of the board. Try to find a number that begins with and "E" or a "D" then three numbers and then 3 or 4 more letters and numbers combined.

Upgrading the motherboard and cpu shouldn't be a problem. Sony cases are bought in so they will fit most mATX motherboards. You could buy a CPU and motherboard bundle that comes fully built and tested with memory included for about 100 to 200 GBP Maplin, Aria and Novatech do some good bundles and have a good help service if you get stuck putting it together.

Is there a current motherboard that will fit in a Sony Vaio pcv-RZ22g case to replace an old Asus P4S533 motherboard?

Desktop computer cases have mountings that suit the majority of motherboards.
You most like need a new switch mode power supply as the existion one won't have the correct power connectors and won't supply enough power.

You would be better off applying the money to a new computer. You are opening "Pandora's Box" . You will end up with a old case with ALL new components. That may or may not work, A.K.A., "pain and heartache".

How to reformat my sony vaio pcv-w10 to factory setting its soslow

If it came with disks you need to use them if not you may have had to make them when you first used it they dont tell you that these days if thats the case you need to buy the disks online or from sony you can find them under your model on the drivers and updates page on their site if it has a recovery drive like D drive set for recovery on it reboot the computer and try hitting f11 and see if that takes you into the recovery setup.

Replacing the powersupply on a Sony VAIO PCV-RS720G desktop

Hi There,

From the looks of things that model will take a standard ATX power supply which would be available from and computer part dealer and ebay etc, get yourself a nice 400w replacement try and get a small form factor one if you can as it will be a tight sqeeze inside the case.

when replacing it you will have to open the case up (get an anti static wristband if you can, and work on a table rather that a carpeted floor) un hook all the connectors the old power supply (one in each drive and there should be 2 in the motherboard) you may have to pull the Dvd rom out slightly to get the new supply in, unscrew the 4 case screws holding the power supply from the back of the case. lift it out then put in the new one, screw it in using the case screws and connect up the internal power cables to the drives motherboard and new graphics card, close the case, plug in and voila

If you get stuck just ask and we will help
