Question about Linksys Wireless-G WUSB54G 802.11g/b

I recently installed a new wireless card in a gateway 320 laptop, it uses the Realtek RTL8185L chipset. I have installed drivers, but it keeps telling me that the wireless connection is not connected.

If you have a network cable connect that and do the following:-

Click Start --> (Settings) --> Control Panel --> Network Connections

Double Click on Local Area Connection
Click Support and check Default Gateway

Open internet explorer and type http://

    then your default gateway address

this will take you into your router

Try finding Wireless settings and change the channel to a different one.

If you cannot do this tell me which country you are in and the model of your router and I can help further

I am using the engenius eub9603h , i am trying to find the driver in os linux , how to find the driver ?

The official site only mentions Win and MAC drivers.

I have heard (but cannot confirm) that it will work out of the box with Ubuntu.

I also have info that the unit uses the Realtek RTL8188SU chipset. I then found this....

http://www.wireless-driver.com/realtek-rtl8188su-windows-linux-drivers/

I do not know if these will be any help. But as a big Linux user, I do know it can be tough finding drivers. You may also want to search -n the realtek chipset.

Good luck.

you may need to install (or reinstall) the soundcard drivers. Your laptop should have been provided with a "drivers" CD/DVD upon which you will find the necessary files.

Check the brand and model of your sound card then download the driver over the internet. You can use any search engine(google, yahoo, etc.) to find its drivers or you can simply visit the website of the manufacturer of the card and see if they have drivers that you can download.

I delete my sound card and now I don't have sound on my PC. I don't know, what to do.

If you have the sound card cd, insert it in your cd drive and install software and drivers otherwise go to control panel, click add/remove hardware and have it detect any new hardware automatically...if it asks for sound card cd, insert it in your cd drive and install drivers....try to update your driver by going to the sound card manufacturerse websitethen download and install latest software and drivers....

WiFi unable to connect/maintain connection

Hello b... couple things.

First; see if going into Control PanelNetwork Connections and disabling the wireless network connection, then enabling it again fixes it. If it does then you have a work-around...

Second; there was a Realtek driver update offered by Windows Update. If that has
been installed (Control Panel-Programs and Features-View Installed Updates)
roll it back to the previous driver through Device manager and get the
update direct from either Toshiba or Realtek.

See if that helps.

This seems to be happening with that Wireless card and Vista... let me know what happens please.

Have realtek 8185, vista, keeps loosing signal

Go to the Device manager and bring up the properties to the realtek 8185 device. There is a tab called Power Management. Click on this tab. There is a checked checkbox that says Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. Uncheck this box. This should stop the random disconnects.

Is this a new device? A lot of newer wireless adaptors come with drivers for NTFS based operating systems such as windows 2k or XP. Windows 98 runs on FAT32. I don't know if this will work. I suggest you upgrade your OS.
