My Uniden walkie talkie keeps saying L very time I push a button

You've set the keylock feature on your walkie talkie. From the Uniden manual...

ON/OFF Press and hold the call/lock key until the "L" appears. After 1 second, the LCD will return to the channel display. To exit Keylock on mode, press and hold call/lock again. Note: While in keylock on mode, it will still receive transmissions.

When turning on screen stays black

I have this same model never had a problem with it, test your batteries to make sure they are at least 1.5 volts. Move the batteries to make sure they are contacting the terminals.
not sure if this will work for yours but try it
To perform a master reset:
  1. Turn off the device
  2. Press the PAGE, ENTER2, and POWER buttons simultaneously
  3. Release all buttons once the Do you really want to erase all user data? message appears
  4. Select Yes

I have a Rhino 530hcx, the volume button is stuck...when the device powers on the device locks up....other than Garmin, where can I get this thing fixed?

I am not sure if you got this fixed but mine is doing something similiar except it is the button above the volume (aquire other users) I had to press the button repeatedly at different angles to get the button to unstick. I have had this happen a couple of times now and the whole unit freezes up. Poor design in my opinion as this unit has only seen the field 3 times.

When powering on the unit it gives codes?

Is this an XU2600 radio? If so, here are the instructions:

Typically when you turn on the radio, it for a brief moment will flash everything it can do on the screen. Some think it says 188, yet it is just an opening sequence. Then when your channel number appears in the center of the screen, your frequency will appear in the right corner with the word "freq" under it. When the word goes away the remain number will be your code.

To get into programming mode you hold in the MON and PTT while turning on the radio. Hold them in until the radios quits making noise. You can then use the MENU button to walk you through programming. Use the + or - to change any thing you need to change before locking each step in with the MENU button. At the end of the 4-6 item sequence you will hear a different chirp. This signals you are done.

Here is a link to the owners manual of the CP100 which is a sister radio to the XTN.

If these things do not solve your issue, repost more detail, or contact a repair center. Repair on this style unit is usually around $69 flat rate.

Hands free

You do not mention what type of radio you are using. However, it is possible
1) you are plugging in the audio device with the radio turned on. If so, the result will be as you describe. Simply turn off the radio and replug the device with the radio turned off. In most cases this will solve the problem. Or a simple press of the PTT while it is locked in transmit, will return the radio to Push-to-Talk mode.
2) You are using an audio device which is not designed for the radio. OR
3) Your radio is stuck in Transmit.

If all else fails, shut off the VOX capability of the radio.

Cobra PR4700WX -none of the controls work

If you find that the LOCK/MODE button does not correct the problem, I have discovered that the microphone button on the inside has a contact patch mounted on the board. This contact patch is like a piece of scotch tape with a metal dot in the center this slides off to the side and leaves the MIC deppressed continuosly which in turn will lock the radio. I have found this on several radios. Once you center the patch place just a small amount of super glue to the edges and yo will have no more problem

It sounds like the radio may be in service or programming mode. Try turning it off, remove the battery, and reconnect the battery. Let me know if that solves the problem or not.
