To lower your ping you would have to:A.) Move closer to the geographic location of the server that you are trying to reachB.) Turn off all other computers in the house.
C.) Close unnecessary programs using the internet such as programs that run on start up that you do not actually open such as a messenger (AIM).

To do this you will hit the start button (I am assuming you are on windows) then in the search field at the bottom type in msconfig.exe if you are using windows 7 or vista
Once the program is open click on the tab at the top that says "startup" and deselect those that you do not need.

Your ping speed is determined by latency to the internet. To decrease your ping speed, you need a faster internet connection, OR you need to check your wireless.
If you are too far from the router, your speed from the laptop to the router may be too low. Try using an Ethernet cable direct to the router from the laptop. If your ping is still too high, then it's your internet speed. If it does go below 300, then you need a better wireless router, or you need to be closer to the router, or put in a repeater between you and the router.

A router that has WDS will also work in place of a repeater. I use a TP-Link model TL-WR740N with the Wireless Distribution system enabled. This lets you use the wireless router you already have as it's WAN port, and you have your laptop connect to the TP-Link. This allows you to put the TP-Link somewhere between where you are and your wireless router, without any cables actually attached to it, operating basically as a wireless bridge / repeater. The end result is much better signal strength and speed to the laptop, and thus to the main router, and therefore to the internet itself.

1999 F-250 122000 miles. I'm getting a pinging sound when stepping on the gas at low speed.

Cheap gasoline, maybe , moisture in the fuel cell (gas tank) ,will also do it, heet gas treatment will take care of it, used as recommended.

Just upgraded my internet speed. Went from a ping speed around 85ms to 800ms. Because the Ping speed is so High I can not play my 2 online game I get lag.look at the ISP but it did not say what to do.

You may have to configure your new router to pass gaming traffic with a priority over other traffic. Can't help you much more than that without knowing more.

Pinging when on the thottle.and a wineing noise from lower end

Beings you DIDN'T give a YEAR (so I don't know if it's a carb or injection), I can only give generalizations.

Pinging in internal combustion engines occurs when air/fuel mixture in the cylinder has been ignited by the spark plug and the smooth burning is interrupted by the unburned mixture in the combustion chamber exploding before the flame front can reach it. The engineered combusting process ceases, because of the explosion, before the optimum moment for the four-stroke cycle. The resulting shockwave reverberates in the combustion chamber, creating a characteristic metallic "pinging" sound, and pressures increase catastrophically.

Some of the possible causes:

The hotter your engine is, the more likely your engine is to ping. The farther your timing is advanced, the more likely your engine is to ping. The higher your compression ratio is, the more likely your engine is to ping. The lower the octane of gas you use, the more likely your engine is to ping.

As far as the whining noise, does it sound like a chain noise?
Again, the causes/fix depend on what YEAR your bike is.

My networking has very high ping. How to lower my ping.

Hi there,

As far as I know, there is no way you can lower your ping from your end.
Try to contact your ISP and tell them to disable your "INTERLEAVING".
Most likely they would not do that even if you talk to their supervisor and manager.
But if you're persistent and you have a good reason why you want your ping lowered maybe they will grant your request.

Keep me posted.

PING PROBLEMS

Yes. Ping depends on the speed of your internet connection.

To improve your connection, try to disable any downloads that are running.

Hello, I saw the article on the fix on the BEFSR41 and the blinking LED, and I was able to find the firmware and put it on 10MB speed, but when I ping the 198.168.1.1 it says destination host unreachable,...

if you have lowered the card speed and cannot ping the 192.168.1.1, have you set a static IP address on the computer, if so what was it? because if you have set a static IP of 192.168.1.xx and still cannot ping the router, this means that your router is already defective. you may want to contact linksys for replacement

Hi,
Bad cable, bad network configuration or bad motherboard, in that order.
Try manual settings for the wired connection, do a repair and see what the comment is.
good luck
