Router doesn t work

Router & Modem must be paired. Read manual to do this, if not contact both Router & Modem manufacturers. You can also contact your Internet Provider for Support.

Red light on modem's internet

I think incorrect physical connection between your router device and the PC.Because cable modem status light should be solid green.it indicates that your ADSL/cable modem has a good connection.

Recheck and correct the Ethernet connection between your PC and the router device.

The Wii console could not connect tothe internet. Error code 52030

Hi,

If your unable to connect to your wireless network

Likely cause: It appears that the password (also known as a WPA or WEP key) entered into the Wii console is not the same as what your wireless router is set to allow.

How to fix: Make sure the password is entered into the Wii exactly as it appears in your router's settings. Security keys are case sensitive.
Don't know how to find your router's password?

Look for a sticker on the bottom of your router. Many routers provided by Internet service providers have their default password located on a sticker on the bottom of the router.

If you're not able to locate the password here, go to your router manufacturers web page and click on support and locate the manual for your router.

Once you have entered the correct WEP or WPA key into your system, try the connection test again. If the problem persists, keep reading this page.
Other suggestions:
  • Did this connection used to work but has suddenly stopped? "Power cycle" your router and modem. To do this:
    • Unplug both the modem and the router from the power outlet.
    • Wait a few minutes, and plug the modem back in.
    • Wait a couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then plug in the router.
    • Try to connect the Wii, Nintendo DS, or Nintendo 3DS online and test for proper response

  • Change your router's channel setting to 1 or 11. By default, most routers broadcast on channel 6, which overlaps with other channels and may be weaker. The information you need is found in the "Broadcast Channel:" area.

Bought a d514-4 port,router @ a yard sale with no CD

There's no need for any CD-ROM.

Use an Ethernet cable to connect your cable-modem (or DSL-modem) to the WAN port on the router.

Use another Ethernet cable to connect your computer to one of the 4 'LAN' ports on the router.

Restart your computer.
Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD
Press Enter
Type IPCONFIG
Press Enter
Look for output like: Default Gateway .... 123.456.1.1
Start Internet Explorer
Type http://123.456.1.1
Press Enter
Login to the router's web-site (try 'admin' & "blank"; try 'admin' & 'admin'; try "blank" & 'admin')
Run the router's "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard" to configure the wireless adapter.
Done.

Can I run 2 laptops off the same modem

There are several ways. Windows XP & Vista & 7 have 'ICS' ("Internet Connection Sharing") that allows you to connect the second computer to the first computer, and the first computer to the modem, so that the first computer is a "gateway" to the Internet for the second computer.

Or, buy a "router" -- connect the modem to the "uplink" port on the router,
and connect (wired or wirelessly) multiple computers to the "LAN" ports on the router.
The router acts as a "gateway" to the Internet for all the computers on the LAN.

Port nt forwarded properly

I think you are asking for a router model number that works properly with what you are doing.
If you are already using a router, try connecting your pc directly to your modem and try to download. You should not have any problems with your download. If you are having problems, check your modem specs, maybe your modem is a modem/router(this means that you have to do your port forwarding on your modem.

Need help

TekFred is right - more information is needed to address the issue in detail.

A rule of thumb that generally works when using a router to share multiple computers: if it stops working due to power outages or something simple like that, unplug both the modem (the box going out to the Internet) and the router. Wait one minute. Power up your modem again and wait another minute. Then plug in the router. If that doesn't work, we can keep moving on other ideas.

If you happen to have a modem/router as a single unit, obviously this won't fix the issue.
