Question about Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Desk 2 TB USB 20 External STAC2000101
It does not work on my MacBook, so I plugged it into my PC followed the same steps and it completed an automatic back-up, tried the same process on the MacBook again and nothing!
If the Seagate hard drive has been formatted on a PC in NTFS then the MAC cannot read and write to this hard drive.
To exchange data between the PC and MAC then the Seagate hard drive needs to be formatted on a PC in FAT32 not NTFS.

As you know, the Seagate sometimes has the firmware problems,so it seems that this firmware designed only valid in XP or Vista system, you may find the firmware update from the seagate official website

Do you have the little jumper switchs set to master or auto-detect? Once that is done, you might try to find an older DOS 6.2 setup disk 1, and use FDisk, to low level format the drive to FAT32 format, then put Windows back on it.

1. Turn off the power supply to the hard drive.
2. Turn off your PC/laptop.
3. Connect the hard drive to the PC/laptop.
4. Turn on both devices.
It worked with mine.
You could also try installing Seagate Manager which can check for errors on the drive.
