Need a manual for an older Elgin Deluxe sewing machine, model 999F manufactured by Standard Sewing Machine Corp.

This may be way off left field, but I saw some Elgin manuals for old vintage machines on the Singer site. http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals Put Elgin in the search box if the number only does not work and scroll down to see what is there. I saw a 1015 model, maybe it will be close. Some manuals are free for download and others cost money. Otherwise do a web search for Relics or Tia Relics and ask if they have a manual that will sub for your machine if you cannot find it in her listings.

Singer now has White sewing machine manuals (see number prefix W) and White Serger manuals (see prefix WSL) along with Singer sewing machine and serger manuals and some odd ones that came from the merger.

Needle wont pick up bobing thread

I am hoping that it is only your needle causing the problem, try a new needle making sure that the flat side faces away from you, if that does not work, try doing a cleaning, take off the throat plate and brush out all the dust & lint there, now oil you machine according to your manual. Rethread totally, make sure that your thread is not tangled. If, all that does not work, I am afraid that it is your timing and that has to be done professionally because it requires special tools and expertise. Before,, you do get it fixed, weigh the cost, and ask yourself, would you be better off with putting the money towards a new machine or want to invest in yours. I have an old Kenmore, 40+ years old and would put in whatever it takes because it is my workhorse, handles anything that my new fancy machines will not. Like I say, it depends. Good luck to you and Happy Easter.

I have a 7050 model JC Penney sewing machine. I can not thread the machine properly, because there are tiny loops appearing on the underside of the material being sewn? Help?

The only place I saw for your manual was at tias, relics. You can google it and see the one I saw, I think the cost was $17 for a reproduction copy, I don't know who else would carry it, but it will answer your questions on how to thread it properly. Without seeing it I am assuming that you do not have it threaded right, or it needs a new needle. I am sure that it is a good old machine and worth fixing, they don't make em like they used to. I am not sure who made your model, so it would be best to buy the exact manual for your particular machine. Sears and Penney's did not make their own machines, they had other manufacturers make them, like Elna, Singer Necchi etc. Sometimes you can even purchase a repair manual that a Penney's technician had, I did with an old Kenmore that I had, but alas, it only confirmed my suspician that the motor was shot. You may be lucky and find one somewhere else for less money but I don't have time to do more research. Good luck

Granddaughter has a pixie craft machine can't get it to sew bobbin not making connection with the thread in needle

Try a new needle, but I am afraid that it will need service and that usually costs more to fix than you paid for the machine. If, this is true, and she really wants to sew, go to a place that sells machines and gives lessons. She will treasure it the rest of her life. I speak from experience, my granddaughter was 8 years old, and I bought her one of those types and it really discouraged her because there was always a problem. I bit the bullit and went to JoAnn Fabrics and bought her a Singer, they gave her lessons on her machine and answered any questions. Then I signed up for some classes at JoAnn's and now she sews like a little pro, makes doll clothes and she and her sister design some of their own clothes and embellish some of their own. (I think project runway inspired them). Their mom is so proud of them because she cannot sew a stitch. She is banned from their machines, lol. By the way, she is 10 now and her sister is 12 and they formed a little sewing club with their friends and have fashion shows. It was the best money I ever spent and do not regret my decision to buy the right machine. It may cost a little more to begin with but the enjoyment is priceless.
