Question about GE Profile Prodigy WPSE4200A

Washing Machine will not spin

All other cycles on my GE Profile washing machine work fine. We believe that it is making a noise as if it were going to start spinning but never does. We go to get the clothes out of the machine and they are soaked. What can I do to fix this??

During "final spin" the tub became detached and was wobbling badly. I paused the machine, unplugged it, removed the front panel, and was able to reattach the tub to the corner rod. However, when I replaced the front panel, and plugged the machine in, and pressed the start button, with the selector on "Spin Only", the machine starts up and sounds like it is trying to run, but nothing is happening inside. Did I forget a step when I reattached the tub?

I am having the exact same problem but I also can smell a burnt rubber smell after I use it. My Washer is about 10 years old, it's a GE Profile

WWSR2100WOWW. I'm having trouble finding this model number on line.

My husbands going to take it apart tomorrow and hopefully figure it out.

Possible your outlet filter is blocked. This requires cleaning depending on your usage. Clean this out and refit. Good luck. Plug off the wall first.

SOURCE: Does not Spin out the water at the end of a load

If it spins the balance is okay. Check out your filter now. And then the pump (after the spigot prob below) Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

SOURCE: GE profile washing machine won't agitate it spins out, drains,

Pull the agitator out and check the drive collar splines. If you have the model I think you have just pull straight up on the agitator. Once removed you will see the drive collar with a 7/16 head bolt, remove it and pull off the collar.First before pulling it off spin it if splines are stripped it will spin freely.

Try a cleaning detergent/descaler. some liquids do cause problems. Softner is 1, it tends to gel in the pressure chambers in machines. This in turn causes many problems.

Timer seems to have gone bad. Manually move the timer to make the dryer spin. If you get it to spin and drain then it's your timer.

I have a GE Profile Prodigy top load washing machine. Sometimes the spin cycle does not spin, sometimes it spins. It makes a clicking noise during gentle cycle

The gears maybe going out. Sometimes it is able to engage in the other direction which the spin, sometimes not. Washing machine have complex gears that in one way agitator works, and the other the gear locks to turn the whole tub. The clicking noise is probably the locking mechanism in the gears that has caused the whole intermittent problem.

GE Profile washing machine not finishing cycles

the OL error is for over load.that is when you over load the clothes in the washing machine. If your washer doesn't spin or agitate on either the delicate or regular cycle, check these:

Selector switch
Clutch assembly
Drive motor
Selector switch If your washer has a selector switch on the control panel, make sure the button for your selection is pressed all the way in, or set properly.

Clutch assembly Many GE®/Hotpoint® washers use a clutch and an automatic shift lever. This assembly is quite complicated. If there's a problem with it, you probably should contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

Drive motor Many washing machines have multiple-speed drive motors. Though it's uncommon, the drive motor may work fine on one speed but not on another. If the drive motor has failed on one speed, you need to replace the entire motor.

GE Prodigy Washing machine making clunking noise

One common problem area is the clutch assembly. The clutch is built on top of the motor, the motor drives the clutch and the clutch assembly drives the rest of the washer. The clutch gets very noisy when parts inside are worn out. The shoes lining that drives the inner drum of the clutch wear off and you will get a metal on metal sound. Clutches often can be rebuilt, but sometimes they are too worn and replacing the whole clutch is the best repair. Please use this link here for clutch replace and repair info. The belt and pump may be the next items to check for noises. How to access the washer. Clutch repair help.
