Question about Dell InspironTM 1501 Notebook
Just recently purchased a Dell. Was on line when the PC froze. I hit the power button on the front of base unit. Went to start it up again and nothing but a black screen with a flashing cursor on the top left hand side of screen. It does allow me to go into system set up and boot options initially. On the keyboard, there is an illuminated section with a picture of a lock and a number 9 in the middle. Any help appreciated. Thanks
Try checking your ram and cpu as with out them the pc cant start!

3. Alt B
this combination will rebuild the IDE configuration and clear the NVRAM. Alt + b will save the configuration.
1. Shut down PC and unplug Power cable from Back of Tower.
2. press the power button and Keep holding for 10 seconds. this will remove static charge from PC
3. Plug in cable and restart.
