No guarantee this will fix your problem, but the last time I experienced this problem it ended up being one of the toner cartridges. I replace her refurb. toners to OEM brand.

When printing starts dating hp defective in 3600, the first thing we do is check the cartridge, there are people who change the cartridge with a new, and it should work. But there are cases in which the impression is going wrong, something like with shadows, colors out of phase, defective printing colors, mostly magenta and cyan are those who are affected.
To ensure and achieve better results, we must make a full calibration on the printer, we are guided by the menu on the printer control panel.
If it still does not work, there is a bit complicated procedures pertaining to resolved the problem.The question is to clean the mirrors and lenses of the laser unit of the printer. this unit is one of the last pieces that fall apart, we must be careful to start.
WHAT WE NEED?
SERVICE MANUAL: http://cid-4c0169bf00ee97eb.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/Manual% 20of% 20HP% 20Servicios% 203600n/HP% 20Laserjet% 203000-3600-3800-CP3505.pdf
PHILLIPS, DE STRIA
SCREWDRIVER FLAT PALLET
1) We must have your service manual for the printer, there tell us where and how to disassemble some parts to get to the laser. Preferably we should have it printed, but obviously not all of the manual, only the pages you need.
FROM 82 TO 93 (here shown as removing the outer parts of the printer front cover, back cover caps
eye: what part of atraz removed, we must remove the card from the left side (from the back, not side) simply pull the black hooks that are located on the side of the entrance to the usb and network and pull the whole card.
FROM THE 128 TO LA131 (LASSER / SCANNER ASSEMBLY - Here we indicate how to remove the top metal cap, the connecting cables to the card, where you must take special care, the 10 metal screws on the back cover, the harness holding cables, and finally after removing the ventilation channel, we find black laser module, remove the five screws there and we set the laser in your hand (you need to move to the left and then remove it)
Until then helps us service manual Hp. and after that we must uncover the laser unit, has a single black screw in the middle, we take away and sides is about 4 hook bras, we carefully removed, open the laser unit, and clean four ultraviolet mirrors with a QTIP, swab, SECO, it is important that we do not clean the monks also mica, transparent lenses, and all but the 2 motors round. Carefully clean and again, the amount of dust does not show significantly, but does significant damage to the image to the printer.
To which we clean, we set the laser housing once, store it in a bag to protect you from falling back blow dust as the printer and proceed to clean the printer with a blower or vacuum, with emphasis on the fans. After this is done, we took the unit from the bag and started to ride all over again in reverse order.
We should be particularly careful when reconnecting all cables should fit snugly.
Reassemble everything, turn the printer, perform a complete calibration or two colors meet again alive, sharp and deep.
WHAT could go wrong?
When you turn on the printer, you can give an error message if this happens we MUST check that error number is here:

600 Hp Continuous Calibration
This is an answer to most of the problems of "continuous calibration" in the HP 3600.When the printer begins to constantly calibrate and falls in line so we have a problem, there are several causes for that problem and must be discarded from the simplest solution to the most complex.
SOLUTION 1: The first thing to do is turn off the printer, and remove the cartridges, toner dirty or if the internal parts of the printer remove the excess, if there is dirt in the transfer belt clean.then close the front cover and turn on the printer without cartridges. then open the lid, place the magenta cartridge, and close the lid again, and so putting the four cartridges. If the problem persists try the next solution.
Solution 2: We must be alert to any strange noises in the printer, it is likely that one of the sticks is failing, if we are a strange noise came from, and replace the cartridge.
SOLUTION 3: There are times that it is software problem can be solved with a "COLD RESET" to do this we must turn the printer, and press the green button several times in the main menu until you see some options, navigate to the Down Arrow button until COLD RESET appears, press OK. the printer will restart and initialize. then restart and probably reached OK status.
SOLUTION 4: Sometimes by changes in temperature and environment where the printer is out of calibration sensor, to do a need to upgrade the firmware of the printer, usually ends the problem here. To download the firmware of the printer with the improvement due to "Countermeasure for multiple Successive Causing Environmental Sensor Calibrations." Is in the following link:
SOLUTION 5: If any of these options serves, it is likely that the mirrors of laser printer are dirty, this requires us to print a sheet to observe defects in print (moved, blurred, misplaced shadows), if any of these defects appear we disassemble the printer for cleaning the laser ... in this link are instructions

Your best method of troubleshooting is the manual sensor test as this is a generic paper jam error.
on your sensor tests:
0 = off
1 = on
A = TOP OF PAGE SENSOR
B = PAPER LOOP SENSOR
C = N/A
D = FUSER PAPER SENSOR
E = DELIVERY-TRAY PAPER-FULL SENSOR
F = FUSER PRESSURE-RELEASE SENSOR
G = MEDIA SENSOR
H = N/A
I = MP TRAY SENSOR
J = CASSETTE SENSOR
K = DOOR OPEN DETECTION SWITCH
L = DEVELOPING ESTRANGEMENT SENSOR - CLR
M = DEVELOPING ESTRANGEMENT SENSOR - BLK
N = MP TRAY MEDIA POSITION SENSOR
A-F are paper path sensors - you can toggle them and watch if they change from 0 to 1. If they do, the problem is not in that area.
G can have states from 0-7 each one representing a different type of paper - shouldn't have anything to do with jamming.
hope this helps. probably a tiny piece of paper or toner somewhere. could also be a torsion spring out of position on a flag.

HP LJ3600 Constantly Calibrating SOLVED.
Hope this helps. I have nine HPLJ3600 printers. Four of them developed this fault. After much head scratching I decided to strip one down. I found the fault to be a thin layer of dust on the laser scanner mirror for the red and yellow images. There are four mirrors in the scanner two of which are upward facing and where dust settles. You will have to strip the scanner unit out to get at the scanner. and physically remove the dust. This proceedure also resolved the fault on the remaining three printers. The factor of dusty environment for these printers was the cause. The office printers are all fine. The forced air ducting seems to take the dust laden air across the scanner unit which is not sealed thereby causing the problem. After six months the problem has not returned as yet but all I will do next time is a strip and clean. (there are a couple dozen screws to come out and replace.)
