Question about Vehicle Parts & Accessories
Changed the battery now truck wont start it has viper alarm on it model 550hf idk what valet button is or how to reset this alarm so i unplugged the system and the truck started is it gonna affect anything being unplugged

it is getting a shutdown trigger from somewhere. check manual for rem.st. diagnostic trouble code section to find out where from is step one.

No it won't reset your alarm system. As part of the bit-writer program, anything you set or change in the alarm menu will remain the same. The only thing that can happen is if you have a DEI 520t back up battery, it may trigger the alarm upon re-connecting. No biggy.

There should be a Valet/emergency override switch, you must turn the key to the on position and switch the switch ... the LED should come on solid, try that, if no go .... Call the people who installed the system ... it is malfunctioning .... If you have RF key ... it may be being interfeared with buy the security override system that is required to remote start the car ...

You may have to check to see what kind of bypass was used for the remote start, as the bypass is installed between a small gauge white wire that is used for the "code" to signal the computer to allow the car to remain running, via the fuel pump. If the wire was not reconnected, the car will start, but only run for a few seconds.

Sounds like the brain quit on you, I would uninstall it or completly disconnect it and have it looked at. Make sure you reconnect the factory wires and start over. Also check the ground for the alarm as it will draw current from what ever wire it can and cause all kinds of things.
