The belt number is usually on the nameplate at the bottom of your vacuum. shoud be an 8 digit number which looks like 38528XXX, where the "XXX" may be 033.

I need a replacement belt for Hoover Elite upright vaccum ,model no. U5043-930. What belt do I get?

Hello,

Your vacuum cleaner originally came with Hoover belt part number 38528027, however Hoover has now discontinued this part number, and replaced this belt with the new belt which is part number 38528040.

The new belt is a little bit smaller then your old one, but unfortunately this is the only belt that Hoover currently makes that will fit your model.

Here's a direct link to our website if you still need to purchase one:
http://www.govacuum.com/agbelhoovpar7.html

I have also uploaded the parts diagram and instruction manual for you. The parts diagram gives you every single part number for all parts on your vacuum should ever need to know another part number. The owners manual will give you step by step instructions on how to change the belt, as well as other maintenance instructions.

Part Diagram for Hoover U5227-930:
http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/vacuumcleanerbacgs/Part-diagram-hoover-u5043-930.pdf

Owners manual is actually for the commercial version of your vacuum, but this will be identical to your instruction manual which Hoover doesn't have available for free:

I hope that this information was helpful to you. If it was, please be so kind and rate my repair helpful by clicking the thumbs up icons in the top corner of the repair.

Thank you very much,

I need help installing the beater bar belt

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover U6437-900 / U6439-900 WindTunnel. All you need to do id to remove the bottom plate by removing either the screws, clips or levers and the bottom plate should come right off, and then you can get @ the belt – if not then the top cover will come off and then you can serv it from the top if needed. Then you can lift up the one end of the Hoover brushroll and then slide the new belt on to the pulley side of the brushroll and then use a belt puller or a screwdriver with a hook on the end and then pull the belt onto the motor pulley. Then track the belt in a straight line. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Usually there are screws, clips or levers on the bottom of the vacuum and you need to either remove the bottom plate and once you have taken the screws, etc. out the top cover will come off. And then you can proceed with the removal and the install of the new belt. 1st you need to remove @ least one end of the Hoover brushroll and take of the old belt and slide on a new belt. Once the belt is on the pulley side of the brushroll; then re-install the brushroll. Make sure that the brush is spinning freely B4 you install the new belt, then take a belt puller or a screwdriver with a left or right hand hook to use as a belt puller and then stretch the belt onto the motor pulley, then take and roll the belt until it is tracking straight and then re-install the top cover and or the bottom plate, tighten down the screws, levers or clips. So, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Need a replacement belt for upright Hoover durabrand

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The best place to get a replacement belt for a Hoover DuraBrand vacuum is to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or to contact the factory @ Hoover listed below and call cust serv and they will direct you to the parts dept. but, please use the genuine belts instead of replacement belts and the average belt change for flat belts is every 4 to 6 months and if it is a geared belt than once a year for the best cleaning. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Hello,

The best way to install the belt on a Hoover to replace one or both of the belts @ the same time for the best cleaning. The average belt change is every 4 to 6 months for best results. There is a tool that looks like a screwdriver that has a right or left angle on the end that serves as a belt puller and to hook the belt(s) onto the brushroll 1st and then take your puller and then pull or stretch the belt onto the motor pulley. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

I have a Hoover self propelled Windtunnel vacuum( Model U6425-920) that stops in the middle of cleaning. I have changed the flat belt and I'm still experiencing the problem. I usually have to wait an hour or so b/4 it would work again. Any advice?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. It is possible that you my have a heat sensor, but as far as what you described you need to change both belts, the brushroll belt and the power drive belt as well and @ the same time. The average belt change is every 4 to 6 months on the vacuum. Does it stop completely or is it just the belt problem. Or #2 is the vacuum giving off a burning smell other than the belts and if it does it could be the motor. Other wise , please call the factory or a local Hoover warranty station in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
