Maytag dryer - common noise problems: See "how to take apart" first. The most common noise maker is the fan blower, it breaks on the motor shaft and makes a loud "rumbling" noise. Other common trouble makers are the rear rollers and idler pulley, they often can make a screeching noise.
A common noise with Maytag dryers is a rumbling noise that often still rumbles for a few seconds even after the dryer shuts off. This usually a broken fan blower, the inside part of the fan blower has rounded out and the fan blower is free wheeling on the motor shaft = new fan blower time. These pliers help make the repair a little easier...Snap Ring pliers.. From Tools Accessories section... How to take the dryer apart. Part is # 303836 for the mytang models. f your dryer is noisy, check these:

Rollers
Idler pulley
Glides
Rear drum bearing
Blower wheel
Rollers Many dryers use rollers or wheels to support the clothes drum. When these rollers are worn, they can be noisy. You should replace the whole set of rollers at the same time.

Idler pulley Dryers have a tension or idler pulley that keeps tension on the main drive belt. When it's worn, it can be noisy. When that happens, don't lubricate it. Just replace it.

Glides Many dryers use nylon or plastic glides at the front of the clothes drum for support. When these are worn, they can be noisy. When that happens, replace them.

Rear drum bearing Some dryers support the clothes drum in the rear with a center spindle instead of rollers. The spindle may be a ball-and-socket type support or a shaft through a sleeve. When the components are worn, they may squeak, squeal, or rub. You can't repair them. Just replace them when they're worn.

Blower wheel Your dryer's blower wheel pulls air over the heat source, through the clothes drum, and past the thermostats, then pushes it out the exhaust duct. The blower wheel, which is usually plastic, may wear out over time. But if it's noisy, it may simply be clogged with lint. Clean the blower and test to see if the dryer is still noisy. If it is, you probably need to replace it.

When i turn on the dry it is making a loud Squeaky sound. the dry is still heating, just making loud squeaky sound

Hi an welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
This squeaky sound your hearing is usually the idler pulley, idler pulley shaft, but also can be the motor or the drum roller bearings. Usually if the drum roller bearings are bad the dryer will thump as it rotates.
The idler pulley and lever is and assembly that is item 8 of this link:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5174194&diagram_id=28598568#d28598568

Since it is squealing at this time when you have the repairs done that you replace the belt that is item 21 this link:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5174194&diagram_id=28598572#d28598572

The motor is item 7 this link:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5174194

I recommend that if you do the repairs that you replace the idler pulley, the drum rollers, and the belt.
Drum rollers are item 17 this link:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5174194&diagram_id=28598572#d28598572 (make sure to check the drum roller shafts that are item 19 of the same link.)

While repairs are being completed also inspect the drum front and rear seals. Thare are items 14 and 26 (Same part number) of the above link.

By doing all of the above you should be able to get many more years of service out of your dryer.

If you need to purchase a service manual for self repair it can be downloaded here for $9.95:

My dryer makes terrible noise when tumbling. It is a loud squeaking noise. Is it a belt that needs to be replaced?

Loud squeaky noises are usually a dry bearing--in this case, probably the one(s) that hold up the front of the drum. Open the top to inspect, then remove the front panel to replace or repair. Hope this helps!

Loud squeaky noise when dryer starts, noise stops after several minutes

I would replace the belt that turns the drum. It is probably wearing out and that is causing your noise.

My dryer is making a very loud squeaky noise. Is is the motor or something else?

Not the motor if it's still working. The noise is coming from the bushing that hold the drum in place.
