SOURCE: SELF PROPELL NOT WORKING GOOD

Have you checked the belt that drives the wheel? This is more than likely the problem. It may be broken.

SOURCE: i have a toro personal pace gts self propelled.

You can buy the whole part...cord,handle,recoil spring all in one piece and remove the old install the new...or you can just buy a legth of pull cord and swap everything over.
First take off the top 4 phillip screws and remove the plastic cover....don't forget to pull off the oil fill cap, next drill out the center of the three pop rivets that hold the recoil spring in place, use a drill bit a little smaller than the rivet, next tap the rivet out using a punch and a hammer, next install the pull chord by first rewindind the coil spring then locking it oin place so it wont twist back and install the new line(pull cord)...next install it on the top of the motor and install 3 new 1/4" aluminumn pop rivets 3/8" long with a pop rivet gun all can be purchased atb Ace Hardware...reinstall the reverse of dismantle proceedure and happy mowing...don't forget to attach the black plastic/rubber pull cord handle.
Happy Mowing!!

Toro Personal Pace 20334 22-inch Briggs & Stratton Gas Self-Propelled Lawn Mower. The electric start button does not release?

Question edited for a little more clarity.
Question moved from Laundry Dryers.

There is either a fault with the push start switch, the starter relay or starter solenoid. Take it in for service, or you local dealer will probably collect and return it.

Toro timemaster is 3+ years old and doesn't self propel when you push the handle forward any longer.

Either the transmission is shot or the gears on the wheels that turn have been worn away;. They are plastic and do not last long nor take much abuse.

Why do the wheels lock up on my self propelled 22" recycling mower

Sounds like they need cleaning & oiling. Check that nothing is keeping it from moving. I have ran over string or cord before & got caught and wrapped around wheel.

Toro Personal Pace self propel problem.

Your self-propel is probably belt driven. Belts can make an awfully lot of noise when unhappy. Possible it has rolled over and is running on the wrong side of the belt or is worn and just needs replaced. Hope this helps.,

Where does cable go at top

It depends on the model, but it hooks up to the handle, on the underside. If it is the personal pace handle (the one where the whole handle moves) It is usually on the lower right corner of the handle. if it does not have personal pace, and just regular self propel, there should be a small hole somewhere on the lower handle. The hole would most likely be on the left side.
