INDICATER LIGHT BLINKING ONCE- SAYING LIMIT SWITCH/OUTER LOAD "W"

  • Robert Dec 12, 2012

Limit switch will open when the blower does no run. The heat exchanger will get too hot without airflow and cause the switch to open.

  • Robert Dec 12, 2012

If the switch is resetable, just press button to reset. If not try tapping in the limit swich a few times.

On the limit switch a few times

Do you have 120 volts applied to the motor? Try spinning the blower wheel by hand, if this getsbthe motor running the capacitor must be replaced. If there is power to the motor and does not start up, the motor will have to be replaced.

Nordyne furnace FEH017HA-04 the fan runs full force when the ac is on but half speed when the furnace kicks in

That is probably normal if it is electric heat to slow the air over the heating elements. Even some gas units do this. Check to see if the unit blower motor has wires for multiple speeds.
