No audio output device is installed...windows vista

Sound used to work just great before...nothing changed...why does it say this now?

    Have you re-installed windows or just turned it on and this is what it said?

You can update your driver for your sound and see if you still get that message
or if you have a cd for sound you can try running the cd again

Hdmi audio not working when conected to tv


Follow these steps to change the audio output settings for the HDMI option.
  1. Follow steps 1 through 8 above.
  2. From the Windows Vista™ default Start menu, click Control Panel.

  3. In Control Panel, using the default Control Panel Home setting, click Hardware and Sound.

  4. In the Hardware and Sound window, under Sound click Manage audio devices.

  5. In the Sound dialog box, click to select Digital Output Devices (HDMI).

  6. Click Set Default, and then click OK

Note: The default audio setting for your notebook is Speakers / Headphones.
You must change the audio output back to the Speakers / Headphones option for the computer to once again be able to use the internal speakers and headphone jack.

It's unlikly that HP will relesae he needed Vista drivers for your sound device.
That has been a problem with Vista since day 1.
If you want your sound back, you should go back to XP.
Windows Vista use a new software architecture, and hardware devices must comply with it, in order to be used by the new OS.

your audio driver is not helpful for sound card which is you install on your pc.
plaese change this driver.
all windows have different driver for different devices.
so you install the driver compatible with window vista and sound card.

I believe it has nothing to do with vista, i'm running xp sp3 ... and from time to time i have the same problem... mine had to do with an outside device i had installed (don't know which) maybee winamp or limewire, uninstalled all that and i've never seen that message again. hope it might help ya bud

give driver a nice blow or hand job... it will melt and in the end will be installed itself...if u r a girl with nice curves then show it to the device, it will ********** itself ;-) hope this information will help
