usually the typebar link is off or broken. Lift the key up manualy and see if its attached. If it is broken only an expert can fix it. If it is off you may be able to reattach it if you are mechanically inclined.
Hope this helps

How can i get two keys of my laptop back on properly

I would suggest (you will not like this but I am honest) having a shop look at it to see if can fix or replace the entire keyboard---may cost some money but cheaper than the unit being replaced.

Acer for example makes laptops for Gateway--I have two that were less than the same ACER model. My only complaint with mine is that in less than a year I can see the wear marks on the most used buttons--everything is getting cheaper.

A year ago a friend had to have the keyboard replaced (spill) and I searched EBAY and found a source in Hong Kong with brand new original ones---27 dollars including shipping--took me 30 minutes to replace entire board.

Let me know if I helped as I do this here for free.

Emachines acer e730 volume key stuck

Buy a can of compressed air and attach the straw, now slightly lift the key and give it a good blast, repeat several times and working the keys, if there is no change the laptop keyboard must be changed.

My son hit a few keys and now the are all jumbled. I hit a "P" and get the "*", an "L" gives me "2". How do I fix this?

Sounds like a spill on the keyboard to be honest, but assuming that its a result of your son hitting the keyboard there may be a key stuck down somewhere.
get a knife and ensure all keys are restored back to the up position.by lightly lifting them one by one.

Hi,
This may be an issue with your Keyboard. Just try the following step.

Open RUN from the START menu, type devmgmt.msc, this will open the Device Manager. There you can find out the keyboard, expand it and you can view the full name there. Right Click on that and select UNINSTALL. Now reboot your PC and log in again. Check whether the issue continues or not.

If still facing the issue you need to contact the support center for repairing it.

Please let me know the status.
Thanks for using FixYa.

If the drives are still listed in the Device Manager, delete them then carefully follow this fix:

"Upper/Lower Filters:

a. Click on Start --> Run --> and type in 'regedit' followed by the enter key
b. Expand the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" key (looks like a folder) by double clicking it (or clicking the "+" next to it.)
c. Expand the "SYSTEM" Key
d. Expand the "CurrentControlSet" Key
e. Expand the "Control" Key
f. Expand the "Class" Key
g. Look for a key containing the following string of letter and numbers:
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
h. Highlight this key by left clicking once on it
i. On the right hand side you are looking for "UpperFilters" and "LowerFilters" under the "Name" column, once you find these delete them by right clicking on them and choosing "delete"
j. Exit the registry by clicking on the "X" in the top right hand corner of the screen

after that restart the computer.
or

update the windows
