Question about GCV160 160cc Engine - HE GCV160LA A1AF
Contractor had a nose-to-tail. The cover with OHC embossed on it is dented. Wont start. Could the dented cover be stopping the cams, valves functioning properly? How do you remove the cover. took out the 4 bolts but still holds tight and I'm dubious about forcing it.
The cover does have the valves underneath. The cover is sealed with a gasket so carefully pry it off. You can fix the dents, then replace the cover sealing it with RTV sealer if you ruin the seal.
It's unlikely the starting problem is here.
