Question about Hampton Bay 73554 Antigua Ceiling Fan

1 Answer

Cover does not attach to the universal bracket I purchased

I moved recently and lost the mounting bracket for my Hampton Bay (I believe Huntington) ceiling fan. I purchased a universal replacement bracket and home depot. The fan mounted fine, but the cover would not attach. The Hampton Bay bracket must have holes in the side for the cover to attach to...but the universal one does not.
Are all Hampton Bay mounting brackets the same? Which one do I need and where can I get it? Home Depot does not carry this.
Thank you,
Jonathan Bernis

Buy a drill and drill bit and make a hole in the bracket where needed. To make installation easier, use a larger that needed drill bit and add washer to screw, won't look as professional but you are not a professional anyway. Who goes around looking at ceiling fan mounts anyway???

Lost remote

Hi there,

Well you can purchase a universal remote in place of your lost remote. You need to connect the universal remote to your fan, universal remotes have a code search button or sequence. Turn on your fan, activate code search, & press the power button until the appliance turns off, then press the set button. or use the manual book provided by the universal remote manufacturer.

Good Luck!!

Thanks for using FixYa!!

I have recently moved into a flat with a flush light in the bathroom. The bulb just blew but I can't figure out how to change it?

there should be a screw in the side, when you find it, unscrew it and the cover should come off and you can change the bulb.

Can a remote control be installed on the Huntington III?

Yes you can operate them with two styles of remotes: either the remote wall switch, or a hand held remote. Both require the receiver to be mounted above the top of the fan in the base it is wired to. The receiver has wires on both sides; the one side wires directly to the house wires, and the other goes to the fan and light. They are both sold at Home Depot and Lowes. The ones at Home Depot also include the set made by the fan manufacturer.

It slides in above right above the ball, in the mounting bracket where the canopy is. You may have to kind of encourage it to go in there, and you will need to push wiring off to the sides and out of the way to help it have clearance to get in there.
