They are darn hard to get off. Squeeze the sides to release the grippers on the sides.

Removing information on screen

You can get rid of the information screen by pressing the [i] button at the bottom left. However you'll still have to use the viewfinder to take your photos. Nikon didn't allow the LCD to be used for LiveView until they introduced the D3 and D300 a year after the D60.

I have Nokon D300 camera and trying to connect through woreless. i checked that conectivity is establish through ping command and not dected camera control pro2 in windows7.please tell me how to reolve...

So you have a Nikon D300 with Nikon Camera Control 2 running on Window 7.
Do this first:1. Remove Nikon WT-4A from camera.2. Make sure to set menu to PTP.3. Hook USB cable from camera to computer (tethered).4. Turn on D3005. Something will display on lower right screen ei found Nikon D300.6. Click on Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 (what version do you have)?7. Wait about 2 to 3 minutes for Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 to come on.8. Adjust modes & settings from pc and fire from pc, not from camera.9. One or two of your cells is defective or weak. Battery goods for up to 3 years. You can check with DVM.10. Many are having problems using & setting up Nikon WT as well as Canon WFT.
All are now selling them and using my ATG AK1 Un-Tethered Systems.

Today I removed my Sandisk memory card from my Nikon D300 before going on a photo job to replace it with an empty one but couldn't get the new one to go in-or the one I had just removed. The camera shows...

CHA error message means that the memory card is unusable. You should format the card by inserting it in a card reader or try another card.

Let me know if you need more help,
Sai.

My d300 has suddeny decided a my memory cards are corrupt. They work fine in a card reader

When you remove the card reader from the computer, you must use the "safely remove hardware" function or your card will be corrupted. Sometimes, if you format the card in the camera, everything returns to normal (download the pictures first).

D300 cards not accepted chr message

try the last card you had in it before this problem occurred sometime the processor in the camera doesn't realize the disk is gone sort of like your computer once it starts reading a disk and you remove it half way threw the load. Well usually before yu can go any further on the computer you must put the **** back in and close the program out. This issue is usually case on cameras when the disk is removed before the camera is turned off.

how did it went into the D300 in the first place? Hold the metal part of the lens, press the lens release on teh D300 body. Best to send it to Nikon for a look. They would charge shipping only.

Cannot remove the battery from by new nikon d300

Hi Dee and thanks for coming to FixYa.

Hold the camera like your going to take a picture. Now turn the camera over to look at the bottom. On the right hand side is a small latch. The latch secures the battery hatch door. Pop the latch and the battery door should open.
Turn the camera back over carefully and the batter should slide out.
Then plug the battery into the charger and you can charge it. Have fun with your new camera!
