You probably dont have a sound driver installed or somehow the driver is corrupted or something. You can download the driver from here and try againDont forget to remove the existing driver first.

My speakers on my acer aspire 3100 are not working correctly. When sound comes out it comes out slow and delayed like my system is slowing down or the speakers are busted. Is there any help for this?

Please reinstall the Audio Driver and re-configure the Speakers and check if the same issue persists. Also, check if the SPDIF cable is working fine.

Control Panel/Sound Icon/ Check out Each Tab. to confirm if you have sound. If negative, Access System/Click Device Manager/Check Sound to see if you have a sound card installed?

If there, reinstall driver.

Acer 3100 keeps wanting to reboot

Sounds like you have a BIOS problem. You can't update/reload it; for that, you need Windows. Try restoring defaults.

Disable sound

When you start your computer, you can press a key to get into your bios setup. I can't remember what the key is in an Acer, but it may be the del key or perhaps the F2. In any case, it should tell you at the bottom of the screen which key to press.
Once in the bios, you should go to the advanced settings (if that is an option) and disable the onboard sound. If there is no "advanced" setting, then you will need to look around for that option.
You can always disable the sound in Windows by going into the device manager, find the sound card that is installed, and disable it.
