Mountain Lion and Lion do not recognize anything that was created under the power pc architecture. If you're connecting an older drive with power pc programs (G5 and before), then you'll have problems.

While you will have problems with the old Power PC programs, there is no reason you can\'t keep the files they made. Many free products --including a couple in the Apple store--will translate old file codes to new ones. UnArchiver is a free program that will open up almost any archived file, even the old ones.
The higher end programs like Adobe\'s or Microsoft\'s will generally open their older files.
If all else fails, try opening it as a txt file. (change the .xxx to .txt) You may be able to see a great deal of the file as text. If it was a photo, you\'re out of luck but if it was a highly modified text it\'ll be there mostly intact.
Good Luck!

Os x mountain lion 10.8.4

you simply cannot "uninstall" mountain lion just like that... You need to accept this like 20 times before it will be preformed. So I'm guessing you mean something else than "uninstalling" mountain lion?

Perhaps you have just changed a setting so the "gray start-up screen" is no longer visible. You can change this in your settings screen, at "users".

How do I reduce Macbook Pro extensive battery loss after installing Mountain Lion?

How long does it take to lose 1/3 of its battery? What stuff are you doing? Internet browsing? Watching videos? ... And are you using a recent Macbook Pro, or is it an old model? Kinda hard to answer without any of this info.

Old Macbooks have crappy batteries that only last a couple of years. If you're not doing anything crazy and it still depletes quickly, you should consider buying a replacement battery.

How do I install the Mountain Lion on my Macbook Air?

You should be able to install Mountain Lion using the Mac App store. Check the applications folder to find the App Store.

Make sure to back up your files before upgrading. After backing up, you will purchase the upgrade from the App Store. Once it has downloaded you'll be walked through the steps to upgrade.

Hope that helps!

Apple OS X Mountain Lion and Facebook help please

Unfortunately Apple does not have Facebook integration for Mountain Lion yet. It is expected to be released in the fall or so.

You are able to integrate with Twitter however, if you use that social media site.

How much does Mountain Lion cost to download?

You can download Mountain Lion by going to the Apple Store. It costs $20 to get.

However, if you purchased your new computer after June 11, 2012 (which your question seems to indicate you did) then it will not cost you anything and will be completely free.

Go to this webpage and enter in your details to get your free copy.

What are the requirements to download Apple Mountain Lion OSX?

You must have the following computer to download Mountain Lion:

iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
Xserve (Early 2009)

Once that is done, you must be updated to the most recent version of either Snow Leopard or Lion. If you don't have either of these operating systems (which is highly unlikely considering the other computers should have them, but I digress) then you will need to get them before Mountain Lion.

After that, go to the Apple Store and download Mountain Lion!
