Test the RAM as you did, only using stick at time and one slot a time. 4 slots by 4 DIMMs equals 16 different possible combinations to try.
You could also use memtest86 (Not for the novice) It is part of a free boot utility CD. Download. Burn and use.

SOURCE: Computer won't load past Boot and now doesn't display anything!

the memory stick going in one way into the module. If you can't close the clips try to rotate it 180 degrees.

when windows starts hit F8 key and select disable automatic start on system failure.
This will bring you a blue screen with the specified error

also you can boot from windows xp cd and at first screen select repair, this will put you in recovery console
in recovery console you can scan your hardrive for errors like this:
chkdsk c: /p /r

After reformatting my ASUS P5VDC-MX lost sound.

That would be expected, because as mentioned above, its a motherboard manufactured for Fujitsu-Siemens, not maintained or supported by ASUS !!

The drivers can be obtainedfrom the chip vendors whose products are used on the board. ASUSdoesn't make Intel or Realtek chips.

Intel 845GE/ICH4 =

Realtek ALC65x AC97 Audio =

Realtek RTL8101L LAN =

Windows Update will have fairly recent drivers for every device on this board. Additionally, FSC maintained an all-encompassing driver update package for Scaleo models active between 2004 ~ 2006: (76MB)

I sincerely hope that one of the above will work................sodeep

Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo 600. No power to processor.

Probably a PSU failure, although it could just be your power switch. Try shorting the power switch connections on the motherboard, if that doesn't work, replace the PSU with a standard ATX PSU. They're relatively cheap.

Open the PC and try reseating the memory and processor before condemning the motherboard. Also, as an FSC computer, check the processor is not one of the batch which had the incorrect heat sink fitted - if it is, you will be entitled to a free processor replacement form the FSC helpdesk.

Are you still having the same problem?

On a computer an amber light is usually a "busy" light from when the hard drive is being accessed.
