Dishwasher is not switching wash cycles. It just sits on the high temp scour for hours if I let it, even if I try to manually switch them

SOURCE: problems with Whirlpool dishwasher model GU1500XTKB0

will these units (silo and jtrip) start back on their own? if so, it is likely they are heating the water.
otherwise it sounds like a logic board, unless there is a defective door switch or sensor issue.
electronics seem to be a recurring problem with whirlpool.
i would ask whirlpool (electorlux) to either buy it back or fix it.
good luck

SOURCE: IDL705 dishwasher showing error code

Indesit IDL700 first two green lights flashing and cycle stops with dirty water left in the machine. CAUSE - blocked or jammed drain pump. SOLUTION - First remove all the filters inside the machine, syphon or sponge up all the water in the sump and check for any obstruction over the fine grill at the very bottom. (we had a pistachio shell covering the hole!). If this doesn't cue it you will need to gain access to the pump. First, turn off the power. Gently lift the machine onto it's side (be ready for some water to spill out!). Remove the bottom plate (6 screws) and disconnect the sump float switch. Remove the single screw retaining the pump to the bottom of the machine and rotate to remove. You should be able to see the rotor blades. With your finger check to see if the pump rotates freely. To dismantle the pump, remove the 3 screws and separate the two halves. Our pump was jammed with an apple stalk!. Reassemble and connect any cables. Apparently this is a known problem with these machines and can be prevented by assembling the filter system correctly and pre-rinsing plates etc. before placing in the dishwasher.

SOURCE: My 5 month old LG dishwasher is making a high

Good day-

I am the proud owner of a LG LDF6920WW. I bought it 10-2008 and it developed a high pitched sqeel (HPS) exactly 2 years and 3 months later. It first occurred on a monday and repeated on the following Wednesday. After the water filled the machine and the swirling, pumping, cleaning cyale began, the HPS began and lasted until the drying cycle. I searched the internet and determined that this HPS was occurring anywhere from 5 days of being purchased, up until the 2 year mark. I was weary of believing that a motor would fail in a five day period as well as last for up to 2 years, so I "Googled" parts for my model and looked at the scematic or parts break down chart. Refering to the chart, I began to disasemble my dishwasher after removing it from the cabinet and taking it to the garage.

I focused on the sump assembly. I removed all parts, motors, baffles, bladders, check valves, etc. I thougroughly cleaned all pieces and parts with windex and a scotch/sponge. I removed all food and debris from all surfaces and gaskets. I cleaned the main body cover by using a low pressure hose and alternating cleaning the top and bottow. I made sure not to rip the micro screening. Upon re-assembly I used high heat, automotive bearing grease to lubricate the seals where motor shafts protruded through them. ****Important**** I set the clutch setting at 3 on my electric drill to screw the assembly back together. I also disassembled the water inlet valve and the float assembly on the left side, exterior of the dishwasher and cleaned that completely out. I flushed all hoses as well.

I put it back in, connected all water, electricity and back-flow devices. The dishwasher is once again silent. All motors and bearings seemed fine. During tear down, the only problems I found were: 1) A lot of debris in several places. 2) dry gasket to shaft surfaces.

AS PER DIRECTIONS FROM TECH, I PURCHASED AND INSTALLED A NEW CONTROL UNIT. THIS WAS BECAUSE MY WHIRLPOOL DISHWASHER GOLD GU2300XTLB3 QUIT WORKING IN ALL CYCLES EXCEPT SHORT CYCLE. PUT EVERYTHING BACK...

Hi,

This is a common problem with Whirlpool washers. If the clean light is the one flashing then your dishwasher could have a heater circuit problem (depending on the age) or this could simply just be water colder than it is used to getting.

Repeatedly press the Heated Dry and Hi-Temp Wash(scrub) which ever yours has until all the LED lights come on, press cancel twice and try the dishwasher again making sure to run the water at the kitchen sink till it is hot before starting the dishwasher, if this trips and locks you have a problem with the heating element, or temp sensor.
Press the heated dry button followed by the normal cycle button, and then repeat once. You should see all of the lights come on for a second or two, and then the dishwasher will work again.
If you haven't already, take a look under the kick plate in front to see if there is a schematic tucked in there somewhere. Whirlpool has put their diagnostics for specific models on these.
I don't have the specific repair manual for you model.
So, if the above combination does not work here are two more that have worked for me.

HiTemp Wash + Air Dry + HiTemp Wash + Air Dry in less than 5 sec
or
Hi Temp Scrub/Scour + Air Dry + Hi Temp Scrub/Scour + Air Dry in less than 5 sec

Let me know, if you need further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Kenmore dishwasher clean light is blinking and now wont wash dishes what can i do?

try this and make sure you water is hot enough to cycle your washer, as it has a temp. sensor for this.

The clean light sometimes flashes and just needs to be reset. To do so hit the keys in the following order. <Heated Dry> <Normal Wash> <Heated Dry> <Normal Wash> <Cancel>.

Blinking clean light, will drain with cancel button, wont wash

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If the clean light flashes, pauses, and then repeats. When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops working and locks the functions (clean light flashes, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash

-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

You need to use the service manual, work through, all the procedures, to isolate your problem, and repair. The DIY sites will also help

Also try to unplug and leave unplugged for 5 - 10 mins, and reconnect, this sometimes "Resets" it. Also it may NOT apply, but the Fix below regardless, works, many times, and is well worth a try.
Ok so your dishwasher won't do anything... it justs sits there and "Hums" you can't make it respond to any controls, and the ONLY way to Stop it. is to unplug the unit, replugging back in it simply "Hums" again and will do nothing.
Now this happens because, the STOP Button, is pressed and the "Door Opened", during the Wash Cycle. This should NOT be done. You shouldNEVER TURN IT OFF MID-CYCLE. you should instead, Simply, pull on the handle, to Open the door, the system will take care of everything, after, you close it,and pick up where it left off. The turning OFF, makes the machine "Think" that a New Cycle, is going to be done, before the old one is finished, and resets itself to do it all again. But it still has water, that's not meant to be there so it must dump it out.
Now, the FIX. Take the Dishwasher, out, and tip over on it's side, tip to about a 45' angle. Water will come out from underneath, this is from a small "Overflow" reservoir. this reservoir has an "Anti-Flood" switch. The removing of this water will "Reset" this Switch, and allow the dishwasher to work again.
So what happens, is this, when the STOP button is pressed Mid-Cycle, the machine must "Dump" whatever water is still in the machine, into the "Overflow Reservoir". This water then causes the Anti-flood switch to jam, and this stops the machine, until it is reset,by the above method.

Dishwasher gets stuck on the rinse cycle right after the light wash, I have had to manually click past this point in the wash cycle twice...

Try turning off the high temp wash. I had a similar problem and found that the thermostat is bad. Turning off the high temp wash bypasses the high temp thermostat.

Miele G892 SC dishwasher not heating/cycle won't stop

Miele have cold inlet only. Either element is open circuit, or the relay that switches the element has failed. My money would be on the element first, then the relay. The machine will sit in that mode forever as it is waiting for the temperature of the water to reach a certain temp before telling the electronic unit to move to the next part of the wash. If you need assistance in how to test & how to get to these parts just let me know. But you will need an ohm meter to test the element. Regards

Clean light flashs seven times, stops and then does the same over again.

bellman, on this model I believe you can clear the fault by pressing high temp scrub--air dry--high temp scrub--air dry in that order. Your normal cycle on this dishwasher is approx 97 minutes without the thermal holds, (pauses to heat the water to proper temps.) So of course it's going to go over 97 minutes. This is for heavy soil. Light soil, approx 89 minutes. Some models have a soil sensor, some don't. If the sensor is out of specs..it could add to long wash times. The heater may in fact be the problem, he needs to check it. The heater runs through the nuetral side of the door switch so you want to make sure the switch is closing and the dishwasher is level and secure. He also wants to check out the resistance of the thermistor, should read 48 to 52K ohms at aprox. 75 degrees. Catriver..post back.

Clean light keeps blinking and I can't start a new cycle

Puppa, clear the fault by pressing the keys in this order: high temp scrb--air dry--high temp scrub--air dry. Or, depending on your model..Sani rinse--air dry--sani rinse--air dry. The dishwasher will enter the service mode. Let it do it's thing or advance it through it by pressing the start key. The fault came from the board not sensing a rise in the water temp. Make sure to run the hot water before starting the dishwasher. The heating element runs through the nuetral side of the door switch so make sure the d/w is level and the door switches are all making. The element itself could be at fault. Catriver...post back

Blinking Quick Rinse

brent, After doing a little research on this model, I see that Sears put out a service flash concerning this problem. Dishwasher stops in mid cycle and one or more of the lights are flashing. SF22-715. The correction is to replace the existing board with an updated board that controls the line voltage better. Part number 8530928. You could be covered under this flash. The tech will have to eliminate the possibility of a stuck or shorted keypad which will cause this same effect. You can try to get this back in operation by pressing in this order: high temp wash-air dry-high temp wash-air dry. This will put it into a self test mode. Just let it run through if it works. If you don't have those keys try power scour-air dry-power scour-air dry. Catriver...post back.
