How to save formula in this calculator

You may be able to enter an expression in the SOLVER but it will be erased if you change calculation MODE or turn the calculator Off.

To enter an expression with letter symbols you Press the ALPHA key then the letter (A,B,C,D, X,Y).

Hi,

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Goodluck!

SOURCE: how to calculate inverse of a 3x3 matrix in casio

Hello,

Here is the solution for th FX-991ES.

Hello,

The error may be due to the key you used to signifie
inverse. It says in the manual that you should use the key x^-1 not the
one used to input general powers.

Here is screen capture from the
Appendix to the manual. The picture shows the sequence of keys to press
to obtain the inverse of a 2x2 matrix. It is taken from page 41 of
Appendix

The matrix used in the exemple is

a_11=2 a_12=1 a_21=1 a_22=2

Here is the link to download the manual and the appendix

http://support.casio.com/manualfile.php?rgn=1&cid=004001004

The link is for FX991ES. Look there foe you manual.

Hope it helps

SOURCE: Hi, I have a Casio calculator fx-991MS giving me wrong answers!

Hello,

I am only looking for a plausible cause of the error, because I do not believe your calculator can make such a mistake. I think you **accidentally activated the Exponential display format** and did not pay attention to the small, raised -03 that came at the end of the number displayed. It is a common mistake for those not very familiar with Scientific or exponential notation.

Let us try to reset your calculator to the normal (floating point) format.

Press the [MODE] key a number of times until you reach a screen that has FIX, SCI, NORM and under each one a number (FIX 1, SCI 2), Norm 3). To have the number of decimal place you gave in your result (4 decimal digits), you press 1 to select Fix then 4.

Be aware that scientific calculators usually stop displaying results in floating point format ( 0.0000045 ) if the number is smaller then 0.001. So basically, 0.00099 will be displayed as 9.90-04, -04 being raised above the level, and in smaller size.

Hope it helps.

SOURCE: can i calculate calculus using fx-991ms

If you want to get an answer like 1/2X for d/dx(X^2), you will have to
purchase a CAS calculator like Casio's Algebra FX-2 or Classpad. TI series calculators also have CAS.

However, you can calculate the numerical values of derivatives and integrals only.

To calculate the value of a proper integral:

- Press the 'ON' key;
- Press the Integral key ;
- Enter your expression (example X^2+X-3 etc);
- Press the 'comma' key after your expression;
- Input the first limit after comma, input comma again after first limit;
- Close brackets;
- Press the equals key, display may return after a while with the answer.

To calculate derivative at a point:

- Press Shift and then the integration key.
- Enter your function;
- Input comma;
- input the point at which you want to evaluate the derivative;
- Close bracket and press enter.

SHIFT+

Display looks like this: d/dx(X^2,3).

You cannot store any formulas. The device has only read only memory. You cannot add to this memory.

On a fx-991MS? With many other models, including the fx-991ES, I'd say you have the calculator in binary mode but the 991MS doesn't have such a mode.

In table Mode you can enter the formula for a function and generate a table of values. For a 991ES Plus you can enter two functions. However if you change MODE everything will be erased.

In EQN (equation) there is a certain number of built in formula types you can choose. You will be asked for the coefficients which will be used to solve the equation selected. However if you change MODE your lose what you entered.**So basically you cannot save formulas to use as a memory aid **(if that is what your intention is.) Sorry.

Your calculator knows only the decimal logarithms log or log_10 and the natural logarithms (ln or log in base e).

So you cannot compute directly the logarithms in any bases other than 10 and e.

A workaround consists in using the relation

log in base b of a number a (log_b (a))

log_b(a)= (log_10(a) ) / (log_10 (b))

or the relation

log_b(a)= ln(a)/ln(b)

log_2(0.3)=log(0.3)/log(2) where log is log in base 10

Similarly

log_2(0.3)=ln(0.3)/ln(2)

As to the multiplicative factor you had at the beginning of your expression, just multiply the value obtained by one on the formulas above (both formulas will give the same result) by 0.3

Hello,

If by calculus problem you mean derivatives of functions, integrals, extrema and such things, I am sorry to inform you that neither the Casio FX-300MS, nor the FX-991MS can handle them. The newer Casio calculator FX-991ES is capable of performing numerical differentiations and integrations. There also graphing calculators by Casio FX-9750G, FX-9860G as well as by Texas Instruments (TI 83 PLUS/TI84PLUS) that are reasonably performant in that area.

Hope it helps.

you need the change of base formula:

log base b of m is ln m / ln b

So- to find log base 2 of 8, simply find ln8/ln2

(from Wikipedia - the proof also follows if you want to go look it up)

While there are several useful identities, the most important for calculator use lets one find logarithms with bases other than those built into the calculator (usually log*e* and log10). To find a logarithm with base *b*, using any other base *k*:
