I fell asleep in the chair, and when Iwoke up all I had was a blue background which was previously selected, but there is a picture of a lock on the screen and I cannot work out how to remove the lock.
I cannot do anything but turn the tv on and off.
The remote does not have a lock button.
Pleae help, i'm getting crankey surfing every site I can find over the past 24 hrs, and cannot for the life of me find anything to fix this little annoying issue
Our magnovox remote does not have an obvious 'display' button. I tried to hold each of the coloured buttons down for 10 secs but thru trial and error found the ' display ' button. It is the button that has the rectangle with the + in the top right corner. Hope that helps someone.

Re: magnavox 68 cm tv model mptv68a
On the remote try pressing 0-0-0-0 in that sequence with the TV on... That's Philips / Magnavox default code for the child lock feature. If that works I would then go into the menu and turn off the child lock feature.
If that doesn't do it, try unplugging the TV for about five minutes and see if that clears it... If you need the owner's manual you can goto: http://www.magnavox.com/ then click on support center and enter your model number.

My husband used the System button on the handpiece, selected colour, and used the + or - arrows to progress from 1 , 2. 3 and the 4th selection was auto. On came the colour . Hooray. Thank you for your interest. Helen and Terry McNamara.
Try using a diferent rf cables.I would suggest that red, white and yellow colour coded RF cable is still the best.(yellow for Pictuer,White for sound and red also for sound(surround).
had similar problem than i cahnge the cables and found out that it worked with that cable...
Last year i had a phillips 100hz tv which had a similar problem.
There can be one of 2 major problems :A processor chip which controls the colour and the tube which could have failed or both.
This could be an expensive repair if the spares are available,(Usually imported from there singapore branch)
I would first check the warranty and then take it to the agents.
I don't know the exact TV, but Magnavox usually have an item or two items in the menu system where the "Magnavox" and also the "blue screen of death" can be disabled. Look in your manual.
I'd suggest the reason it appears is temporary loss of signal from the antenna, set top box, cable system or whatever it is you receive your TV programming via. I don't have an answer as to why it occurs watching video, but turning off the logo and blue screen should help. If it still occurs, it's time for professional intervention!
Hello pea16 serrure enfants means lock infants or as we say child lock.
Hold the display button down for 10 seconds, which removes the lock.
If that does not work try: unplugging the TV for about five minutes and see if that clears it, If you need the owner's manual you can goto: http://www.magnavox.com/ then click on support center and enter your model number.
Then go to the language section and select english.
